From a study published today in the journal Breast Cancer Research, it appears that substances previously developed to prevent nerve cell death in the brain after a stroke effectively eliminate breast cancer cells without harming healthy cells. These substances have been tested in research on types of breast cancer that are not known to develop on a hereditary basis. The research was conducted in the laboratory of Prof. Cohen-Armon from the School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, in collaboration with the doctoral student Asher Castiel in the research group of Prof. Yizraeli from the Cancer Research Institute at the Sheba Medical Center.
The group performed experiments on breast cancer cells in cultures and in mice that were injected with the cancer cells. At the same time, experiments were carried out with dividing healthy cells, which included fetal connective tissue and epithelial tissue cultures. The experiments in the cell cultures proved that the tested group of substances inhibits cell division (G2/M arrest) both in healthy dividing cells and in cancer cells. However, while the damage to cancer cells is irreversible and is accompanied by rapid cell death, in healthy cells there is a mechanism that "overcomes" the delay in cell division within hours, and these cells survive and continue to divide even in the presence of the substance, similar to cells that were not treated with the substance at all. Thus, a group of substances developed more than a decade ago to prevent cell death under stress conditions that cause DNA damage, was discovered to very efficiently destroy breast cancer cells without harming healthy cells. The tested substances do not damage healthy dividing cells, such as epithelial cells, nor do they damage non-dividing cells, such as nerve cells and heart muscle cells. Ramot Company, the commercialization company of Tel Aviv University, registered a patent for the use of these substances for the purpose of curing breast cancer.
The killing of breast cancer cells by these substances was also proven in experiments on mice, carried out by the veterinarian Dr. David Castel, with the approval of the Committee for Experiments in Medicine from Tel Aviv University. The mice were injected with human breast cancer cells, with some treated with one of the substances tested in the cell cultures. The substance was released in a slow release over two weeks from subcutaneously implanted pumps. The cancerous tumors developed in untreated mice. In contrast, the treatment completely prevented or delayed the development of tumors of the injected breast cancers. It is important to note that in these experiments no changes were observed in the behavior of the treated mice, nor were any signs of disease or side effects that indicate damage to their vitality or longevity observed.
According to Prof. Cohen-Armon, identifying the substance's mechanism of action in breast cancer cells may form the basis for targeted drug treatment in other types of cancer. However, we have a long and bumpy road ahead of us in our attempt to turn this discovery into a marketed drug.

It turns out that dozens if not hundreds of substances are known that have an inhibitory effect on the growth of cancer cells in tissue cultures.
The problem is that usually they fail to see the same results in an in vivo experiment.
This does not prevent all kinds of followers of "natural medicine" from selling and recommending all kinds of so-called natural preparations, and taking advantage of the plight of desperate patients or people anxious about their health! This is usually accompanied by all kinds of conspiracy theories about evil doctors, who are unwilling to recognize natural remedies because it is impossible to make money from them.
My advice and demand from all these believers is, either you show us successive studies conducted according to scientific standards that prove the medical effect of these substances and explain the mechanism of action in the body, (and then you will win all possible glory), no, sit back and let real scientists promote the research.
It is also worth adding that the claim of all kinds of "natural" and "alternative" therapists that it is impossible to check the effectiveness of their treatments with scientific testing tools, is vanity and short-sightedness and is nothing more than an attempt to steal the minds of the innocent.

2. It is also interesting, because at the same time as this publication, an American company whose name I do not remember (I heard the news on the radio) also announced the development of nano materials that are also suitable for targeted cancer treatment. Today, these substances are already entering the phase of human trials (if I remember correctly - a group of about 25 patients).
According to the scriptures, it is not clear why the road is long.
After all, if it works, then they fail a little in the development of a drug and make billions, and if it doesn't work, then they publish articles claiming that it works.
