After over thirty hours of continuous development and fourteen teams, the first Nazareth Hackathon is over. During the hackathon, 14 development teams worked around the clock, most of them software engineers from the Arab company. The hackathon was initiated by the GDG Nazareth developer community and under the primary sponsorship of Google Israel and the Zofan organization and Orange and Samsung companies.

The development that won first place is a navigation and driving application for a robot based on Android. Among other things, the robot can follow a child and take a video of him. The winning team won Android devices, a gift from Google Israel, and the preparation of a business plan, a gift from the Nazareth Business Incubator.
Among the applications developed: an application for searching and automatic labeling of photos, a mobile application for locating the exact location of a stuck vehicle and updating the arrival time of the tow truck (tracking the tow truck in GPS), measuring TV ratings through the smartphone, a social network for artists, a Facebook application for turning photos into cartoons.

The second place went to the Rim team, named after the golden fish that came to the competition with them, who developed a creative application for home cooking with the ingredients that are in the house - the application refines what is in the refrigerator and the kitchen cupboard and adapts recipes that do not require the purchase of additional products. The letters are cataloged by categories - meat meal, dessert and more.

Jeff Fulber who judged the hackathon said: “It's really amazing to see people come together, roll up their sleeves and code. It should be done more often. More places should be allowed for geeks - if you're a geek, it doesn't matter what your religion is or where you're from: a geek is a geek - it's the same DNA. We need to allow platforms to create opportunities for technological specializations, for personal expression and for posing challenges to geeks." On the difference between the hackathon in Nazareth and the New York hackathon, Pulver said: "It's warmer here and there's more hummus." But people are people."

They also judged, Eyal Gora - a successful start-up (PicSout), Nabil Sakran - a senior manager at Intel Israel, an Israeli Irishman - a priest from the group of angels Afterdocs, Avital will prepare a serial entrepreneur who founded and sold Delver to Sears and Guy Grimland.

The hackathon was managed by Mohammad Zalka, a software architect from the founders of We! Consulting and AgileBusiness. Zakleka: "The success of the event is actually its existence as the first event of its kind in the North, organized by programmers for programmers and a supporting coalition of technology companies. Interesting connections and connections were made that will lead to a positive turn in the attitude of students and their turning to studying engineering and exact sciences. Every Hizank company, idea or connection that came out of this event is definitely a bonus."

Samdar Nahav, CEO of Tsofen: "This is an invaluable opportunity for practical experience for young developers. An experience that can grow the next generation of startups"

The 'Zofen' organization is a non-profit professional organization that works to connect the high-tech industry with thousands of Arab engineers, by initiating the establishment of high-tech centers in Arab communities and encouraging state investments to promote high-tech in these communities. young people and to provide a quality and accessible response to Israeli and international hi-tech companies. There are no attempts to kill Jews because they are Jews, there were not two thousand deaths on the Israeli side by these people. The sea is the same sea.

I feel bad for involving science in politics, but such a statement is simply disconnected from reality and unscientific, happy new year to all of you

  3. The discrimination of the members of the Mizrahi ethnic group is only the property of the ultra-Orthodox. The problem in the periphery does not belong to the color of the skin but to the neglect of the periphery in general. I know almost no non-mixed families. Whoever thinks that he will achieve something by shouting discrimination is his personal problem, no one discriminates on purpose.

  4. Maybe they will also invest in the development and promotion towns of the Mizrach tribe???????????????????????????
