For the past three years, Maged Avatar for the technologies used to make decisions in the autonomous vehicle, has worked to develop capabilities to build a detailed and accurate world picture for the benefit of making autonomous vehicle driving decisions by fusing synergistic information from various sensors, and on top of an efficient computer embedded system combined with innovative algorithms.

7 leading hi-tech companies and 7 leading academic bodies in Israel participate in the consortium funded by the Innovation Authority and the Smart Transportation Directorate of the Ministry of Transportation: leading hi-tech companies in the field of auto-tech, such as Sister in law, a leading global provider of large-scale vehicle simulation for the ADAS and autonomous vehicle markets | Elbit Systems, a world leader in the development of advanced autonomous tools for land, sea and air uses, and develops complex systems based on computer vision | Via Vision (Ladtech Israel), which develops environmental sensing solutions for autonomous vehicles and advanced driver support systems | company Opsys, which develops a unique and advanced LiDAR without moving parts for the automotive industry Third Eye Systems Company, which operates in the field of artificial intelligence and computer vision, and engages in the production and marketing of electro-optical systems | Siva Dee Company. ace. times. Ltd., a public Israeli company, which provides technology for signal processing and AI processors intended for markets such as the automotive, cellular, electronics, and IoT markets | and Rafael, which develops and manufactures systems at the forefront of the operational need and at the forefront of technology for the IDF and the defense system and is a significant pillar in the security of the State of Israel.

In addition, members of the association are leading researchers from the main academic institutions in Israel: the Technion, Tel Aviv University, Bar Ilan University, Ben Gurion University, Haifa University, Ariel University and the Weizmann Institute.

During the demonstration day:

  1. Demonstration of sensing systems (cameras, thermal camera, lidar) installed on an experimental vehicle of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Innovation Lab in Israel.
  2. Demonstration of perception abilities and driving in real time on a simulator in a variety of challenging scenarios.
  3. Demonstration of autonomous driving systems installed on a test vehicle. The vehicle will perform driving in a variety of scenarios in real time on a physical test surface at Hichal Shlomo in Tel Aviv.

The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Innovation Lab in Israel promotes collaborations between the three international car companies and the Israeli ecosystem. The mission of the laboratory is to locate and test Israeli technologies for the purpose of integrating them into the vehicles and services of the future of the three companies.

As part of Maged Avatar, various sensors and computer systems developed by Maged companies were installed on one of the test vehicles of the innovation laboratory. After the demonstration, the experimental vehicle with all the systems installed on it, will be transferred to the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi innovation laboratory in Tel Aviv, where an examination will be conducted for some of the technologies.

The purpose of Maged Avatar is to create a framework for organizing while cooperating in formulating and carrying out the periodic R&D plans of the members and concentrating industrial bodies and research institutions that will carry out research and development of generic technologies for driving an autonomous vehicle in an urban environment. The association works to create a framework for the development of advanced and vital generic technologies that cannot be obtained from sources abroad under reasonable commercial conditions, joint direction of the generic R&D programs in accordance with the long-term considerations of the members, continuous technological cooperation between the members of the association, and joint representation of the association's members before the authorities and in front of other bodies or parties for the purpose of carrying out the periodic R&D plans.

Aviv Zaevi, Vice President of Innovation Infrastructure at the Innovation Authority: "The Innovation Authority sees great value in the empowerment and integration of the players in academia and industry in the ecosystem that deals with sensing, connecting and simulating data in the autonomous vehicle, in order to generate aggregate technological and economic value for them. This is exactly the purpose of this association and we expect it to bring real news in the field."

Daniela Gera Margaliot, VP of Innovation and Smart Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation: "Over the course of 3 years of activity, Maged Avatar has demonstrated a variety of technologies for making decisions in an independent vehicle. The particularly successful collaboration of 7 companies and 7 leading research bodies in Israel is another layer in the Ministry of Transportation's practice to promote advanced technological solutions, to increase the safety of road users and to streamline traffic.

  1. In wasting public money, Tesla are light years ahead because they have data collection from a fleet of 100k vehicles in FSD beta. They collect hundreds of terabytes a day of 360 footage around the car while driving. Next year they will be out of sight and when that happens then all these little freaks will go down the drain.
