British researcher: "Inflammation that attacked ancient nature, left only two pairs

The sexual system would be more efficient, according to him, if there were a hundred couples

A British scientist is currently causing a great uproar in the research community, after claiming that the fact that humans (and most other creatures in nature) have only two pairs (the biological term for species, male and female sexes) is the result of a bacterial infection, which our ancestors The ancients attacked it, in his estimation, two billion years ago. The original explanation he provided does not currently receive further confirmation - but only criticism. Just raising the topic for discussion is interesting.
Prof. Lawrence Hart from the University of Bath claims in an interview with the BBC that there is no limit to the diversity of life on earth and therefore it is not clear why most species have only two sexes - and "this when in a rare species of Mushrooms have, he stated, no less than 36 thousand pairs and in an extremely rare species of mold - 13 "There are only a few exceptions-to the rule and they are quite rare, which deviate from the universal rule regarding the existence of two pairs," said Prof. Hart.
According to him, this is undoubtedly an "evolutionary mystery". He further explained: "If there were, for example, 100 partners in the human race, and then each person could 'woo' each of them, this means that the statistical chance of finding a partner for fertilization and reproduction would increase to 99 percent and a as the situation is today: 50 percent".
"In the current situation, added the British researcher, when there are only two pairs, the survival of the human species is more difficult - and yet many mutations that could cause a catastrophe are avoided. It all stems from the way we inherit our mitochondrial gene system."
Unlike the genes in the cell nucleus, the mitochondrial genes are found outside the nucleus, and their genetic material, DNA, replicates extremely rapidly. Hart said that in his opinion, the mitochondrial genes are the remnants of the bacterial infection that "hijacked" our ancestors. The bacterium has become an inseparable part of the human body, added the British biologist. Since each species inherits mitochondria only from the mother's side (the female partner), the catastrophe is avoided. But there are some exceptions, such as a type of fungi whose reproduction does not involve mitochondrial DNA.
And in the same matter: an American scientist claims, in an article she published in the journal of the Academy of Sciences of the USA, that the entire human race should be observed when it is based on five couples - and not on two. She placed on one axis all the existing pairs, in her opinion, with a male from here and a female from here placed at the two ends, and between them three more pairs: a person who is not 100 percent male, a person who is half-half, and a person who is not 100% female in her opinion: This form of observation allows wider circles of the public, including conservatives and religious people, to come to terms with the fact of the existence of gays, lesbians and transsexuals.
