The Ministry of Transportation has published a procedure that allows the installation of LPG conversion kits on Euro 4 vehicles as well

The office received the position of the division of vehicle propulsion with alternative fuels in the Association of Chambers of Commerce * Thousands of vehicles from the year of manufacture 2007-2006 will be able to convert to LPG

"The transition to alternative fuels is of enormous importance both at the individual level and at the national level. It is expected that thousands of vehicles from the 2007-2006 production year (Euro 4) will be able to convert to LPG (condensed hydrocarbon gas)". This is what Hagai Varzenski, chairman of the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Propulsion Division at the Union of Chambers of Commerce, said following the publication of the new procedure by the Ministry of Transportation (May 13.5.07, 4) allowing the installation of LPG conversion kits on Euro XNUMX vehicles as well.

According to Udi Tamir, member of the board of directors and CEO of Gazpro, "many countries encourage the conversion of vehicles to run on gas for reasons of reducing air pollution and saving costs through a subsidy of 50%-70%. In Israel, the bureaucratic barriers make the mechanism work in a way that is too cumbersome to reach the masses. Today, with the approval of the procedure, the State of Israel is taking another step in the direction of the most advanced countries in the world, where the system was put into wide use (USA, England, France, etc.)."

As a reminder, the union's inspection showed that the scope of activity in the LPG industry was estimated at approximately NIS 25 million in 2006, an increase of approximately 100% compared to 2005. In 2006, approximately 3,000 gas conversion kits were sold compared to approximately 1,500 kits in 2005. Yes, in 2007 about 6,000 more vehicles are expected to be converted to gas propulsion, so that the revenue in the industry is expected to be about NIS 50 million.

The alternative fuel vehicle propulsion division of the Association of Chambers of Commerce includes 10 companies engaged in the importation of vehicle conversion systems from gasoline to gas, which make up more than 90% of the importers in the market, among them: LPG Energy, Japanauto, Wayla Israel, Gas Pro, Omega Technologies, Italgaz, Eco Drive Energy Systems Economy for cars, Go Gas, Dayan Nir Gas car services, and Super Auto Gas.
