Warming, its effects and results

The increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, an increase that causes many different damages, only one of which is global warming, dealing with damages and ways to prevent them is one of the most burning issues that should be on the world agenda

After we pass the barriers of the "skeptics", the barriers of ignorance and those who do not see further than tomorrow. We will come to an understanding of the situation, an understanding of the process that our world is going through, a process in which the "advanced" and "civilized" humanity is the accelerator and the main factor, a process of destroying the natural environment and increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, an increase that causes many different damages, only one of which is global warming, Dealing with damages and ways to prevent them is one of the most burning issues that should be on the world agenda.

Here are some points:

The ozone layer in the atmosphere protects against excessive radiation, since the beginning of the last century (20) substances have been released into the atmosphere that damage the ozone layer, damage that was discovered in 1985. Out of understanding and recognition of the importance of the ozone layer, a conference with many participants was held in 1987 (in Montreal) in which it was decided to slow down to a complete stop the use of "ozone destroyers", and indeed measurements showed that there is a stop to the damage to the damaged ozone layer.

However, a report prepared by the Scientific Assessment Panel of the UN Montreal Protocol on Substances provides evidence of a link between the ozone level in the stratosphere and the changing climate. The report confirms the fact that in the last decade the decrease in the thickness of the ozone layer has stopped even though there is still no regeneration and thickening of the layer.

By successfully controlling the emission of ozone-depleting substances, the Montreal Convention had a positive effect on climate change, since many of the banned substances are greenhouse gases. Following the Montreal Convention, there was an expectation and prediction that by the half century (current) there would be a renewal of the ozone layer to the level it was before 1980.

But it turns out that there are more and more other factors that will damage the ozone layer, for example climate change causes changes in the temperature of the atmosphere and changes in wind cycles, changes that damage the ozone layer, in the North Pole the more extreme changes take place, while in the South Pole the changes are less noticeable. Most of the damage to the ozone was observed in the south, in the south a (minor) regeneration of the ozone layer was also observed. It turns out that when the level of climate change in the north increases, the regeneration of the ozone layer will be affected. There is also reverse feeding, damage to the ozone layer causes changes in the flow of winds in the Antarctic continent. One of the possible vulnerabilities is the addition of substances to prevent or stop the increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases: sulfur, mirrors, dust, etc. Therefore, any future activity must be coordinated and implemented as a whole that takes into account all the effects in order to obtain a positive environmental and climatic nourishment.

Plants versus insects

The increase in DTP concentrations in the atmosphere causes a change in the relationship between plants and insects

that feed on them and thereby change the development (evolution) of the plants, so claim researchers from the University of Michigan. The research that focused on the effect of the DTP elite on plants from the Ascalypaceae family that produce toxins or bitter taste substances to defend themselves against insects.

The production of the "defensive substances" is the result of a long interaction between the plant and the insect. It turns out that the production of toxins and evolution in plant-eating insects are affected by environmental factors, the increase in the concentration of DTP in the atmosphere is a significant environmental factor that affects the evolution of plants by being a factor in "selection pressure".

Selection pressures are one of the most important factors/drives in evolution that affect the genetic structure of populations. When an insect damages a plant the plant does not reproduce successfully which causes a situation where any plant that happens to inherit an insect repelling trait has an advantage. Because of the advantage, the trait will spread in the plant population spurred by insect pressure.

Researchers Rachel Vannette and Mark Hunter tested whether different groups (genetically) of Ascalpi in a population in one growing area would react differently to elevated DTP levels and to what extent, as well as how the reactions would affect the chances of the plants being eaten by insects. The researchers also tested the effect of different DTP concentrations on the growth rate of the plants and on the production of "protective substances".

It turns out that all the plants grew faster at high DTP levels, but different groups produced different amounts of protective substances, especially the difference in the production of a toxin called cardenolides. When DTP concentrations increased, most plants produced less toxin, up to 50% less. For a caterpillar / insect that eats plants, this is a big difference that will determine whether the plant is edible or poisonous, since the insects "choose" their food according to the concentration of toxins, it is clear that those who produce less poison will eat more.

However, it turns out that plants that produced fewer toxins grew harder leaves, that is, instead of chemical protection, physical protection, when you put the data together it turns out that: as a response to the increase in the concentration of DTP in the atmosphere, genetic differences develop in the plants, differences in the "strategy" of the protection against insects, it is clear that at the same time The insects develop resistance to the toxins or strong jaws to eat harder leaves, and thus, by the atom pollution, we influence the evolution of plants and insects, for the better.... or worse?

Toxic algae get a "boost" as a result of the temperature rise. Algae and bacteria nowadays in the world and its lakes multiply and spread in such a way that their effect increases, studies show that climate change makes the oceans and freshwater bodies more vulnerable to "blooms" of toxic algae, changes that also make it easier for bacteria and harmful bacteria to reproduce. This is according to a study by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Researchers modeled climate cycles in the ocean with the intention of predicting the future impact (at the end of the 21st century) of the bloom of the algae Alexandrium catenella which is the main cause of "red tide" the same phenomenon that causes poisoning in the water. Eating (by people) shellfish that have "collected" the algae can cause nerve damage, paralysis and death. The test revealed that towards the end of the century the flowering will start about two months earlier and last about a month later than today. But the effect will be felt already in the 40s.

The things were announced at the meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. And it seems that changes in the flowering seasons of the deadly algae will occur soon, perhaps as early as the next decade.

In another study conducted by NOAA scientists, it became clear that desert dust that contains iron sinks into the ocean and causes the encouragement of harmful blooms, and the reproduction of toxic bacteria, researchers from the University of Georgia found that: adding desert dust to seawater significantly stimulates the growth of the Vibrios group of bacteria, bacteria that cause ( in humans) intestinal infections, cholera and other infectious diseases,

Within 24 hours after adding desert dust from Morocco to the seawater, a "population explosion" of the toxic bacteria was seen. In the last 30 years, the amount of dust sinking into the sea has increased, due to the process of desertification mainly in West Africa, the expectation is for further increase, it is clear that the blame for the increase in precipitation in parts of the world and drought in other parts lies with climate change / global warming.

The warming of the atmosphere and the land causes the warming of the oceans, warm oceans increase the chance of developing diseases in humans and animals, an unhealthy ocean affects not only humans and animals but also the global economy, the beaches are home to millions of people who generate a large part of their countries' income, in order to prevent fatal harm to the population Humanly and in the natural environment, everything must be done to prevent harm to the health of the seas.

Areas covered in frost until they are in the polar circles, according to researchers' estimation, by 2200 more than two-thirds of those areas will thaw, this is because of global warming, areas that thaw will release huge amounts of carbon into the atmosphere, according to researchers from the University of Colorado Boulder's Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences.

The carbon that will be released from areas in the Arctic Circles will affect (by repeated feeding) the global climate, this despite an international activity to reduce the emission of pollutants from mineral fuel, the origin of the carbon that will be released is plant material that was trapped in the permafrost about 1200 years ago.

Therefore, in order to reach the agreed upon DTP level, the thawing of the permafrost areas and the addition that will be "contributed" to the global carbon cycle must be taken into account and we will not have a much warmer globe than the level we are talking about / (agree?).

To understand the process, you can compare the carbon captured in the frost to storing cauliflower in a home freezer, the cauliflower remains stable as long as it is frozen, when the cauliflower thaws, a decay process begins, due to which carbon is released.

Previous studies have shown that in Alaska and Siberia there is a "leakage" of carbon from frozen surfaces that thaw, the new study constitutes for the first time a future assessment of the amounts of carbon that will be released from thawed surfaces. A study that gives a numerical estimate / "data you can work with", according to the study, in the next two hundred years an amount of 190 billion tons will be released, most of it in the first 100 years. This is a large amount of the amount of carbon that has been released into the atmosphere since the beginning of the industrial revolution (1800), an amount equal to a fifth of the amount of carbon in the atmosphere today.

At the beginning of the industrial revolution, the concentration of carbon in the atmosphere was 280 parts per million, today the concentration is about 380 ppm and the concentration is increasing, most of it as a result of human activity, burning of mineral fuel and deforestation. It is accepted by most researchers that the increase in the concentrations of DTP and other greenhouse gases is the main cause of warming. According to NOAA 2010 was the warmest year and the other decade was the warmest since regular measurements began.

A significant reduction in emissions from burning mineral fuel to offset the carbon that will be released by thawing the permafrost is a global challenge, without a reduction the (average) global temperature will rise to alarming heights.

Here is a proposal for a solution, even if it is partial, as part of the search for solutions that will prevent further environmental damage on the one hand and on the other hand allow for the continued existence of a healthy human population, there are those who very seriously propose to stop raising herds of sheep and cattle and instead raise insects, insects require less space, multiply and grow quickly and contain high concentrations of proteins without the harmful animal fats.

When you take into account that different populations in different countries eat locusts and other grasshoppers, ants, termites and many species of arthropods from the sea and the land, when you take into account the economic and environmental costs of raising meat compared to raising insects.... It may be necessary to look into the possibility seriously,

One way or another we have already said and we will say it again because the time has come that instead of controlling the environment for the sake of the human population, there will be control of the human population for the sake of the environment!

  1. Man should take responsibility for his actions, which is implied by this, since his hands are in the fate of the ball, since changes are not necessarily a bad thing, but changes that will cause the extinction of life on the planet will interfere with the continuity of humanity and possibly also of evolution

  2. Doron:
How much can a person babble?!
Man didn't exist 200000 years ago and in the billion years before that he didn't exist either so can I be sure there are no humans?
The industrial revolution only existed for 200 years and in none of the previous years of history did it affect the climate. Does this mean that it is now ineffective?
You can remove worry from your heart because from now on I will stop paying attention to your nonsense.

  3. Michael - If in the last half a million years it hasn't happened, you can remove worry from your heart, it probably won't happen in the next twenty either. There is a difference between the north and south poles, a land/water difference.

Asaf - I expected a little more from you, but I was probably wrong.

    Doron.

  4. Doron:
You have no idea what you are talking about and you don't understand what you are being told either!
I repeat the simple logic question I asked you and you have failed so far:
Where will all the water go if the polar waters melt?
So that you don't fail with the answer again - I am sending it to you:
    http://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/earth/geophysics/question473.htm

Your words about man and humanity also testify to the human condition.

Do you have a company and 30 employees on your head?

I deleted what I wrote later so as not to be too offensive

  5. To me:
There is no disrespect, from my habit, when I do not find a Hebrew term, I put the foreign term in quotation marks,
Is this acceptable and correct for Hebrew writers?
    To Doron:
For so much nonsense and inaccuracy... No Comment .

  6. Humanity has not existed for 200K years, humans have existed for over a million years and there is a difference!
There is a lot of similarity between the DNA of an Anush [human being] and that of an onion, but there is a great difference between them.

I don't want to analyze human variability but there was a turning point 100K years ago. And it is certainly interesting what happened to human culture between the teeth of the graphs, the steep increases in sea level hide many findings on the land shelves and at depths up to 120 m

To think that humans have such great capacities for change, pyramid > horse > car > Discovery only 120 years.. and beautiful wall painting in the caves from 30K years.

    Plato's opinion

Plato, in the dialogue Timaeus, presents the position that there have been several different flood cases throughout the ages, and the flood of Deucalion and Pyrrha is the last and most famous of them all. In addition, he hypothesizes that Deucalion and Pyrrha were not the only survivors of the flood, but that in addition to them, several other people survived who managed to flee to mountainous areas, where the water did not reach.

    Well you have to work
I have a company and 30 employees on my head

    Doron.

  7. Doron, another error in which we caught you - humanity has existed for approximately 200 thousand years according to tests of the mitochondria. Not a chimpanzee and certainly not an undeveloped chimpanzee. These were human beings like us.

  8. Michael
Vessel = the capacity and behavior of water on the planet.
You can relax, there is no water to raise the water level "by tens of meters" at least that is what is known from the measurements of the last 500K years, and it seems to me a pretty normal measurement ((-:

  9. and collect
125K years ago the sea level rose 5' above the height today
Even I don't know about such developed cultures in these times, during this period "humans" contained 17 species with the intelligence and skills of an undeveloped chimpanzee.

Assaf: "According to the natural cycle, there should have been a cooling (due to the Milankiewicz cycle), but humanity's "skills" cause warming and therefore an increase in the level".

Doron: The issue of climate cycles is much bigger than human influence, it will come and very soon [25 years]. The balancing mechanisms of the planet are able to balance our "smoke and concrete", so that if we cause something to the planet we will be harmed ourselves.

Check the article in the link, there is a lot of material and the direction is clear -> cooling. And this time smaller things related to the marine conveyors and again, not related to man these to the cycles of the planet.

  10. Doron:
What is this fuss with the tool?!
If the glaciers in Antarctica melt the water will rise.
There is enough water in these glaciers to raise the height of the oceans by tens of meters. Do you really think all this water will join the oceans without rising to the surface?
Know that the height of the water surface is not the result of the temperature and not the other way around. There is no mechanism in nature that tells the temperature to stop rising because the water level has already reached a height that Duron does not allow them to pass.
Listen, I don't have the strength for this nonsense.
All the time there was a proper reference and here I got a little carried away and listed all kinds of things that are really shameful that should be listed.

  11. Finally there is some reference
Regarding the question of whether the immigration is over?
    A. If we look from the bottom of the last steep rise, 18K years have passed, this is the maximum time before a fall. Only the pre-450K gradient is longer.
    B. The water has nowhere to rise, the vessel is full. All similar graph bends ended in declines.
third. Similar to section A, the drop after going up from area 100- is a steep drop
    d. The weather changes quickly, the temperatures and magnetism as well
God. And again these are natural cycles of the planet every 100K years with an expansion trend towards 120K
and. It seems to me that the mammoths left us during the last rise of the graph in the last 18K years

These are completely natural cycles that change all the life and plant cycles on the planet. These are water cycles, unlike the sporadic phenomena of a meteor or a tectonic event which also created major changes.

    Doron.

  12. And in relation to Doron's response 12:
This description is indeed true on a certain level for any graph - simply because if a decline does not begin it is not said, usually that the rise is over.
Therefore also - when you look at the graph at the present moment - before the decline began - the question arises as to whether the rise has ended and your words do not provide any reason to think that the rise has ended and now a decline will begin. In fact, this is just a prediction that contradicts the learned predictions of the experts on the subject.

  13. Assaf, I referred to the graph in the article. There is no need to express disdain by putting it in quotation marks. This is a graph, not a "graph". Or are you claiming that the article and the graph in it do not meet the criteria for a scientific article and are not based? If so, what are you basing your assertion on?

Regarding your advice on reading graphs correctly: could you show how I should have read the graphs correctly? Could you say something like: "Look at the second graph, you can see that starting from the thousandth..."?
Your information about the anticipated cooling may be correct. I'm not familiar with the subject. But why not say it in a normal way, as a valid argument, instead of disparaging people's graph-reading abilities without basis and attacking them personally (unless you show me how I could have come to this conclusion from the graphs)?

  14. And by the way:
The article was cited by Doron to support the claim that the things are not the result of human involvement.
It is interesting to read the article and see that this is not the conclusion of its author, and indeed - no such conclusion can be drawn from it.

  15. jewel:
I stand behind my words and they did not refer to the article he pointed to but to the things he said.
These things are not a logical conclusion - even if the article has a logical conclusion.
Doron's words also do not contradict my opinion because I do not have a personal opinion on the subject and I repeat this in almost every discussion that deals with it.
In subjects where I do not understand enough, unlike Doron - I do not tend to form a personal opinion and in these cases - and only for practical purposes - I simply adopt the opinion of the majority of experts.

  16. Come on, even "graphs" should be able to read and interpret correctly
Because the data show the natural fluctuations of the rise and fall of the water level
    Because of cooling and warming,
According to the natural cycle there should have been a cooling (due to the Milankiewicz cycle),
But humanity's "skills" cause warming and therefore an increase in the level,
For everyone who reads and understands the data differently and does so with the help of: tradition, faith, holy books, etc.
The right to disagree about a reality that is confirmed by scientific means,
A right that allows one to "perfume" oneself, so... let him be perfumed!

  17. Doron, it has already been explained to you that comments are automatically blocked if they contain forbidden words/combinations that creatures from fairy tales used to use frequently. There is no conspiracy against you here. Wait patiently and the editor will release your comment when it becomes available. Next, try to analyze what could have caused the blockage and avoid using these words.

  18. Regardless of Doron's fondness for this or that book, the man makes a logical argument that you can relate to, even if it goes against your opinion. It is true that he mentions the word "Bible", but he does not use it to prove his arguments, contrary to what Machel claims. And his conclusion, that man is not connected to sea level rise actually makes sense, and you would have seen it from Kal, had you bothered to open the said article instead of automatically ruling out an opinion contrary to yours.
The graph shows that the sea level reached its current level, more or less, already 6-8 thousand years ago - thousands of years before the industrial revolution.

It should be noted that the writer does not have a solid opinion on the topic of warming as a DHA, nor is he among the followers of the Holy Book, although the mere mention of the book does not cause accelerated blood flow to direct his eyes and dye them crimson.

  19. And my father will release my comments!
Or there really is something dark here

    Doron.

  20. Michael Avi Assaf, where is your reference to the "blue on top of white" graph? I did not create the diagram, it is a reflection of the past.

    If we check the data
    A. For 5% of the time the sea level was at a height similar to today's sea level
    B. A lower altitude reflects an order of magnitude lower average temperature on the planet
third. The duration of the Max Level streak is 6-7K and even less
    d. Always after a steep ascent, there is a descent of several tens of meters to the sea

Are there no opinions for people on the site?

    Doron.

  21. Doron in:
A book that claims that the hare and the Euphrates and the Tigris come from the same source cannot be a scientific reference for me.
Since there is not even a hint of science in the rest of your words - I do not find it appropriate to accept your conclusions.

It has nothing to do with the true fact that a book as immoral as the Bible is indeed shocking to me.

  22. Everything in the graph, blue on white.
Yes, I forgot that the lion is throbbing in your ears,
So you can see it in any other culture you choose

    cultural science and history,
    always go together

  23. Doron:
    Oh!!! Give it!!!…..
Now I understand where you came from and where you are rowing.
There is no science in your words.

  24. I will explain again what I say, and because I found and brought the "sea level curve for the last 450K years, some people will also be able to understand [my words].

    1. 18000 years ago it was very cold on the face of the planet, and this after 120000 years when it was much colder than today. The ice at the poles piled up and piled up [it rained] and the sea level dropped and dropped to 120-130 m below the level today.

    2. Then for 5-10K years the level rose up to today's level, the straight up lasted less than 10K years and then there was a drop in the sea level. Descending means cold and ice piled up at the poles.

    3. And now we are at an extreme point and the way is only one way down [cold] and I don't want to be esoteric, but most of the big cities are by the sea, and it always has been, so one can only think what is hidden there under the sea level? 120 m 80 m etc.

We have a clue in our Bible.

*Note: I suggest taking a good look at Figure 1 when reading this response
    http://cgate.co.il/archeology/pnei_haiam.pdf

    Doron.

  25. Doron:
Of course, the above should not be seen as agreement with your response, which is nothing more than a collection of statements lacking any basis.
You start by saying that the sea is more or less at an all-time high, but for some reason you see this as a refutation and not a confirmation that it is man-made. This is a conclusion contrary to logic. I am not trying to side with any conclusion or any data but only to point out that the manner in which you reached the conclusion from the data is illogical.
The rest of the stuff doesn't even try to come up with any explanation (however wrong it may be) but simply firmly states all kinds of baseless assertions about the nature of climate behavior.

  26. Doron:
    No one blocked your comment.
It was blocked by the automatic system because of combinations of words and letters that were inserted into it because of trolls who passed here and had to be blocked.
As soon as one of the editors sees a comment that was automatically blocked without justification - it is released.
There is no reason to accuse anyone here of a dark regime and for this accusation I allow you to apologize.

  27. hi my father
    Release my previous comment
    http://cgate.co.il/archeology/pnei_haiam.pdf

I am attaching a link to a PDF showing the sea level in the last 500K years
Note that according to the straightness of the graph these days at the maximum, we are before a fall/decrease in sea level,
    Means cooling, means change!
Yes, we make smoke, concrete, and birth, but the water cycles of the planet have their own stories, and [such] change makes a mess for life and plants, and this is also a natural process

    Release my comments
You don't need to act like a dark regime
    Doron.

  28. Won't the thawing of soils lead to an increase in the areas where plants that use DTP grow?
(this is how the recurring feed will be created)

  29. Damages == changes, and again it is not us who are the causes, the earth is changing.
A few weeks ago, a National Geographic magazine fell into my hands, there was a study there that, among other things, concerned sea level. And what caught my eye is that the sea level ranges between:
    Upper point = today
Lower point = -150 [from today]
And in fact today we are at a high point of height, most of the time the surface today was dozens of meters lower, and in fact the exception is the situation today! For example 12000 - 60000 years ago the sea level was 120 - this was the last ice age. Actually from the graph of the last 800000 years, the sea levels were different than today.
Sea level == temperature on the surface of the planet
And in fact all these changes were made without human intervention
*I would be happy if someone finds and displays the graph here. It was in an article about water holes/caves located near the sea and connected by a narrow connection to the sea.

In fact, today we are facing the beginning of another "little ice age", and one of the characteristics before cooling is a small warming that thaws the poles and causes the playing of cards and a very rapid drastic change.

    Doron.
