For three days in April, a workshop was held at the British Council that trained researchers and scientists to create digital content about science, with an emphasis on video intended for distribution on the Internet. Ziv Kitro (journalist and blogger) and Lior Zoraf (consultant in the field of digital marketing) trained the participants in how to produce videos at home, how to produce narrative and exciting videos, and finally - how to make wise use of the tools available on the Internet to distribute them square.

The workshop was held under the auspices of the British Council in Ramat Gan, in collaboration with Hamada.

Without further ado, we bring you the five films arranged in the order drawn by lottery.

  1. A new material is created by combining several materials
Rain falls when drops combine into one big drop
Regeneration may only appear from the combination of several components.
And what will happen when we learn to connect? We haven't found that out yet...

  2. In the first stage, the people will be able to live in protected places, under closed domes (as shown in the video, I think) or under the surface of the ground, and this is long before the process known as the "landing of Mars" is finished, in addition to this, I think that the technological progress in the next 100 years will be so dramatic (with an emphasis on artificial intelligence and nanotechnology) that will allow shortening the duration of this process by many orders of magnitude.

(Read Ray Kurzweil's latest book "The Singularity Is Near" and you might understand what I'm talking about)

  3. Ronan, the estimated time just for the initial heating process of Mars (the first step to settle the planet) is about 500 years, and this is taking into account the non-linear progress of science.
In 200 years, we may advance in many areas (alternative energies, medicines, genetic intervention, etc., etc.) but in the field of space settlement, the changes, to today's observer (an average person who does not understand how revolutionary and groundbreaking each technology is) will not be seen that much significant.

  4. Still, the timelines in the film are devoid of any sense or connection to reality, look at how much we have advanced technologically in the last 50 years, and imagine where we will be in 50 years from now when the technology becomes more and more elaborate and sophisticated day by day.

I don't know NASA's schedule, but to give the things shown in the movie a timeline of "in 1000 years" and "in ten thousand years" is completely out of touch with reality, all the things shown in the movie will fit into a time window of 200 years.

  5. Great movies. Thank you very much for the investment. I'm sure it will ignite some young minds and get them interested. Well done. Really very beautiful.

    Greetings friends,
    Ami Bachar

  6. You have no idea how many technological leaps are required to make space settlement worthwhile and possible. This is not the technology of 2011. What is more, the main fear is about a further decrease in investments and the grounding of the space program.

  7. The schedule shown in the video "Space Colonization" sounds completely out of touch with reality, the creators of the video are probably unaware of the fact that technology is developing at a fast pace that is accelerating year by year, and that tomorrow's technologies (nanotechnology, robotics, artificial intelligence, etc.) will be much more sophisticated and sophisticated and will allow us to implement the Things in timelines are much shorter than those shown in the movie.

According to the video it looks like we're stuck with the current technology of 2011 for another ten thousand years, it's ridiculous.
