Living creatures from space or just drifting?

A balloon launched by researchers from the University of Sheffield in Great Britain during the Perseid shower to a height of 27 km discovered living creatures floating in the atmosphere in the middle of the Perseid shower. Scientists from the University of Sheffield believe they have discovered relatively complex organic molecules and even living things in the upper parts of the atmosphere. The team, led by Prof. Milon Wainwright from the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Sheffield, discovered what they claim were living creatures that came from space after launching a specially designed balloon 27 kilometers into the stratosphere during the Perseid shower in August.

Says Prof. Wainwright: Most people will probably appreciate that these biological particles must have drifted up from the earth, but it is accepted that particles of this size cannot reach heights of 27 kilometers. The only explanation is a strong volcanic eruption, and such has not happened in the last three years." "In the absence of a mechanism by which large particles like these can reach the stratosphere, we can therefore determine that the origin of these biological entities is from space. Our conclusion is that life continues to reach Earth from space all the time, and is not limited to this planet, and almost certainly did not start here."

In a press release, Wainwright was quoted as saying: "If indeed this is proven, it means changing our view of the beginning of life and evolution." On the other hand, in an interview on the BBC, he sounded a little more reserved and said that it would only be necessary to make adjustments to Darwin's theory, but not to replace it.

The balloon, which was also designed by researchers at the University of Sheffield, was launched near the city of Chester and carried a microscope that was exposed to the atmosphere only when the balloon was at an altitude of 22-27 kilometers. The balloon landed safely near Wakefield and the scientists then discovered that it contained several molecules as well as what they called stratospheric biological creatures, which they claimed were too large to reach Earth.
According to Prof. Weinfield, steps were taken to prevent contamination of the samples with substances from the ground, so the researchers are convinced that the origin of these creatures is in the stratosphere.

The group wishes to repeat the experiment in October, when the meteor shower originating from Halley's comet dust will arrive. They hope to find new and unfamiliar creatures.

    First of all, all the particles they found are defined as inorganic, so maybe they think that these are skeletons of an insect?

    They explain that despite this, the similarity of the structures they see in these particles to structures that form in water necessitates their formation in the water of comets.
    That is, they have particles of inorganic dust in their hand and they imagine seeing the remains of life in it. Even if they originate from life in outer space and somehow our atmosphere filters out cosmic dust but allows these "skeletons" to arrive, they cannot seed life in space because they are inorganic. There is no DNA, RNA or even proteins there.
    They didn't make a control flight while there were no meteors - because it might bring down their theory, all this shows academic dishonesty.

    Why don't you try to blow up the balloons on a day when there are no meteorites?

    Darwin's theory deals with the development of life after its formation.
    Perhaps the professor meant the operin theory of abiogenesis? And even if it does, it does not rule out or disprove the theory.

  7. What seems excessive to me is the claim that creatures that could not drift into the stratosphere from Earth could drift into it from another planet.
    It is logically inconsistent.
    Even if a volcanic eruption is required to throw such a creature to such a height and even if the last big eruption happened a few years ago, it is much more likely to assume that these are creatures from Earth (which were perhaps thrown to a height greater than 27 km?).
    I don't know what really happened but Professor Wainwright's determination is laughable, as is his statement about the consequences of this for the theory of evolution - consequences that do not exist.
    The panspermia theory does not deal at all with the question of how life was created and developed, but only with the question of where it happened.

Point - "anyone who has an ounce of common sense" (as you define it), understands that these are not conclusions and there is no uncontrolled experiment here (it does not seem to me that you have read the experiment at all with the exception of the aforementioned article and therefore your concepts regarding it are also built directly from an interpretation of a journalistic article given about another journalistic article), but in total a journalistic interview given to the media and not the research itself.
