Professor Yaron Oz was elected Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences at Tel Aviv University

Professor Oz is entrusted with the Yuval Na'aman Endowed Chair in Physics at Tel Aviv University, Head of the Center of Excellence for Research in Fundamental Interactions on behalf of the Israel Science Foundation, Vice President of the Israel Physical Society and member of the National Committee for High Energy Physics

Professor Yaron Oz was chosen to serve as the new dean of the Raymond and Beverly Sackler Faculty of Exact Sciences at Tel Aviv University. He replaces Professor Haim Wolfson who has finished his tenure.

Professor Oz joined the School of Physics and Astronomy at Tel Aviv University in 2001. He completed his postdoctoral training at Berkeley University in the USA. In the years 1998-2002 he served as a faculty member at the CERN research institute in Geneva. In 2006 he was appointed head of the School of Physics and Astronomy at Tel Aviv University, a position he has held until now.

Professor Oz's research interests are high-energy particle physics, quantum and supersymmetric field theories, classical and quantum gravity and superstring theories. In each of these fields of research he made important contributions, published over a hundred scientific articles and lectured at over a hundred international conferences.

Professor Oz is entrusted with the Yuval Na'eman Chair in Physics at Tel Aviv University.
He serves as the head of the Center of Excellence for Research in Fundamental Interactions on behalf of the Israel Science Foundation, the vice president of the Israel Physics Society and a member of the National Committee for High Energy Physics.

  2. I guess this is not the same Yaron Oz, a player in Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Israeli national team in the 70s?....
