UFO testimony of Thutmose III

One of the chapters of the Condon Commission's report for the examination of the UFO phenomenon is devoted to evidence from ancient times. The oldest evidence concerns Pharaoh Thutmose III who ruled Egypt between 1450-1504 BC. It is an official testimony written like the rest of the written material of that time on papyri.
It was partially preserved and for many years it was kept in the Egyptian Museum of the Vatican and then it was kept in the private archive of Professor Alberto Tolli, the curator of the museum. The translation of this certificate was made by Prince Boris de Rushwiltz and according to this translation the following were said in the document:

"In the 22nd year of Pharaoh's reign, in the third month of winter, at the sixth hour of the day, the officials of the House of Life noticed that a circle of fire came from the direction of the sky. It had no head, and the breath from its mouth had a bad smell. The length of the body was one rod (8230 meters) and its width was also one rod. He had no voice. The stomachs of the officials were confused because of this: after that they lay down on their stomachs &;8230 went to Pharaoh to report to him &;5.4 his majesty commanded &;8230 be examined&;8230 regarding everything that was written in the papyrus scrolls in the house of life. His Majesty reflected on what had happened. After several days had passed, these things appeared in greater numbers in the sky than before. They shone brighter than the sun and spread to the borders of the four supports of the sky. The presence of the circles of fire in the sky was powerful. Pharaoh's soldiers and Pharaoh among them floated up. It was after dinner. Then rising higher and facing south, fish and volatiles fell from the sky. A wonder that has not been seen before since the founding of the country. Pharaoh ordered a sacrifice to be made to bring peace to the land and an order was given to record what happened in the records of the house of life so that it would be remembered forever.

There were those who found a great similarity between this document and the descriptions appearing in the book of Ezekiel, which raised many doubts as to its authenticity. Therefore a telegram was sent to the Egyptian wing of the Vatican Museum to get information about the papyrus. It turned out that the papyrus is no longer in the possession of the Vatican Museum and cannot be traced. Dr. Condon was not satisfied with this answer and he sent a letter to Dr. Walter Ramberg, the scientific attaché at the US Embassy in Rome, and his reply was as follows: "The current director of the Egyptian wing at the Vatican Museum, Dr. Noli stated that Professor Tully left his estate to his brother who was serving at the time as a priest in the Lateran palace. It is likely that the famous papyrus passed into the hands of the priest, but unfortunately he also passed away. His estate passed to his heirs, who tried to get rid of the papyrus because they didn't value it much," Dr. Noli pointed out that Professor Tully was only an "enthusiast" and that Prince Boris de Rushwiltz was not an expert at all, he suspects that Tully committed fraud and that the papyrus is nothing but a forgery .

On the face of it Papyrus Tully looks problematic. It is no longer possible to reach him and questions arise as to the reliability of the people who had a hand in the matter. However, there is a possibility to carry out another test, which is to test the content of what is said in the papyrus by analyzing it. It is important to note that the event described is presented in the terms of the people of the time and its analysis is done in terms of the 20th century. There is inevitably a gap here between different worlds of knowledge and worlds of content. What is done in this analysis is an attempt to understand what is described by relying on knowledge that most likely did not exist at that time. The following conclusions emerge from this analysis:
1. The event took place in the winter. On most days of this season of the year, the sky is usually fully or partly cloudy. The observers were able to clearly distinguish both the single circle and the many circles.

2. The single circle got closer and closer, so as it got closer it looked bigger and bigger and since it was close to the ground, the officials were able to estimate its dimensions. Since the dimensions are equal in length and width, it is clear that it is symmetrical. A helpful evidence of this is that he had no head. In contrast to the soldiers who were reported to be concentrated in one place, no evidence of this kind is given regarding the officials. Hence they were scattered over a relatively large area, probably in a large square found near the Beit Ha'im. The reported measurements were given by all. That is, the body is symmetrical in all directions. Nothing was given about the height of the circle. It appears to be a ball or disc configuration.

3. The only item on which there is a report is the mouth of the circle. Such a clear diagnosis is only possible when looking upwards. The mouth was above them and opposite the ground, that is, in the "belly" of the body. No noise was heard, but from the direction of the mouth came a breath accompanied by a bad and unbearable smell. There was therefore a flow of air from the mouth towards the ground. Nothing was said about the body touching the ground. The circle hovered in place for a long time. A bad smell can come from chemical pallets in gaseous phase or as particles. These findings lead to one possibility and that is that the described mouth is nothing but an engine and therefore it is an aircraft.

4. This is a small aircraft in which 2-3 extraterrestrials can operate in relatively comfortable conditions, assuming that their height is approximately the height of an average person.

5. There is a reference here to two events. A first event in which one aircraft appeared and a second event that occurred several days later in which there was a massive appearance of aircraft. The first aircraft is described as a circle of fire and at the massive apparition the circles are said to be brighter than the sun and then they are described as circles of fire. It is possible that this is a simultaneous activation of their engines when they flew up. There is no reference to caution during takeoff. It may be that the accumulated light reflection from the sides of the aircraft created a greater caution effect than the sun. What might support this possibility is that in the first event where only one aircraft was seen, nothing was given about Zahira, at least not in the section of the description given here.

6. The second event has several stages. The first stage is the deployment of the aircraft in all directions and the second stage is an ascent to a greater height. Since the deployment of a large number of aircraft is all over the sky and considering that they could be tracked, they flew relatively slowly. It is worth noting that all of this happened after dinner and since the days are short in winter, it is dusk close to dark. In light of the fact that it was initially reported that they shone brighter than the sun, it should be taken into account that the show lasted more than an hour, from one o'clock in the afternoon until nightfall.

From the simultaneous take-off of these aircraft and their turn to the south, it can be understood that this is a formation flight. This is reminiscent of the UFO formation flights observed in Lubbock, USA in August and September 1951.

7. The strangest phenomenon is the fall of fish and volatile substances. It is likely that this had something to do with the appearance of the aircraft, but it is not clear what its nature was.

From the description of the behavior of the spectators, the following details become clear:

1. The officials were scared and embarrassed.

2. The army and Pharaoh stood in place and watched the event without moving. An uncharacteristic situation for soldiers because whether they are on the offensive or on the defensive, they never stand frozen in place for a long time.

3. Pharaoh witnessed the importance of the event and ordered it to be recorded so that it would be remembered for generations.

4. Following the event, Pharaoh worked to bring peace to the land, which means that this event was so impressive and had such a great impact on him, to the point of being willing to stop the warlike activity. Historically Thutmose continued his military campaigns, but at least for a certain period of time he laid down his weapon.

These findings, regarding the behavior of the spectators, point to the possibility that, after all, it was an event that left an impression on them. What he really was, it is hard to know given that the object, as his name has not been identified.
