Swine flu: The World Health Organization has declared an international health emergency

An unusual outbreak of swine flu, which has so far claimed the lives of dozens of people in Mexico, threatens to become a worldwide epidemic. This after an unusual strain of swine flu (a mutation of the H1N1 strain) was found among the victims of a respiratory disease in Mexico and in the bodies of patients in the USA.

An unusual outbreak of swine flu, which has so far claimed the lives of dozens of people in Mexico, threatens to become a worldwide epidemic. This is after an unusual strain of swine flu (a mutation of the H1N1 strain) was found among the victims of a respiratory disease in Mexico and in the bodies of eight other patients in the USA.

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Margaret Chan, declared on Saturday, April 25, an international health emergency based on the recommendation of the organization's emergency committee. Currently, the World Health Organization does not recommend restrictions on travel or trade.

As of today, the organization's epidemic warning is at level three on a six-level scale, which means that there is no risk in the world - or there is only a limited risk - of the spread of a new virus from person to person.

Swine influenza is an infectious respiratory disease caused by infection with one of the types of swine flu virus of strain A. The morbidity rate of this virus is high, but the mortality is relatively low (1-4%). The virus spreads between the pigs through sprays, and by direct or indirect contact, as well as by the hands of pigs carrying it. Influenza outbreaks among pigs occur all year round, with an increase in the number of cases recorded in autumn and spring in temperate regions. Many countries routinely vaccinate the pig population against the swine flu virus.

The swine flu virus or SIV is a virus that causes a flu epidemic in the pig population. DNA fragments isolated so far from this virus have been classified as swine flu type C or as one of the subspecies of swine flu type A.

Swine flu attacks humans every year. These are mostly people who are in contact with pigs, although there have been cases of human-to-human transmission so far. Symptoms of the disease include fever, disorientation, fatigue, stiffness in the joints and loss of consciousness ending in death.

In pigs, there are three strains of type A influenza circulating in the world (H1N1, H3N2) and H1N2) Since 1998, DNA fragments of the N3N2 strain have been isolated from pigs. This strain contains genes from the viruses active in humans, poultry and pigs.

The H3N2 strain reached the pig population from humans. Sometimes the pigs carry several strains of this virus at the same time, which allowed the viruses to mix. The result could be a flu virus that includes components from multiple sources and is referred to as a newly classified virus. Although most strains of the swine flu virus are characteristic only of these mammals, they may occasionally cross the border between species and cause disease in humans.

As of yesterday, April 26, 2009, the US government reported 20 laboratory tests that confirmed cases of human infection with the A/H1N1 swine flu (eight in New York, seven in California, two in Texas, two in Kansas and one in Ohio). In all 20 cases, the patients showed symptoms of a flu-like illness and only one of them required a short hospitalization. No deaths have been reported so far.
All twenty viruses had a genetic pattern. The virus was described as a new subspecies of A/H1N1 not previously detected in pigs or humans.

As of that date, the Mexican government reported 83 dead and hundreds of patients. The government took efforts to prevent the spread and confiscation of the disease in Mexico. Suspected cases of the disease have been reported from 19 of the 32 states in Mexico. (Today, April 27, it is reported that the number of deaths in Mexico has reached 103).

The National Health Organization and the Global Response and Alert Network (GORAN) sent experts to Mexico to work together with the country's health authorities. The organizations have already begun investigating suspected cases in other countries and are supporting epidemiological activity in the field, laboratory diagnosis and medical management.

  1. I still haven't understood whether there is really room for local hysteria. On the one hand, they said it was a normal flu (which claims victims like any flu). On the other hand, we are talking about the future mutations. Are they that real? I would appreciate an answer from someone who has an idea in the field.

  2. Diseases are plagues of nature,
Nature sends blows, because humans are egoistic. If human beings love and respect each other, the nature that is love will come to us well.

  3. By the way, I heard about one from Siberia who grew his teeth for the third time, also a possibility, who knows.
It also depends on how much patience, duration and lifestyles a person has, if he is indeed evolutionary, and not in a process of regressive evolution.

  4. Yes, Oren
But the Tony D'Fish part is cuter :) But why, why does this Mitchum never comb his hair??
By the way, I purchased a 'genuine British magic mirror' just as you sent this link,, interesting.

*I responded to Michael's request to reply to you right now and not later.

  5. Hugin:
I really recommend you to stare at the link that Oren sent you.
I also recommend you go back and do this before (and maybe instead of?) any comments on the site.

  6. One who understands:
I am also a vegetarian but I understand that lying is a double-edged sword.
Man has always been a omnivore and has many characteristics of a carnivore (like, for example, forward-facing eyes).
It also lacks some of the important features of natural vegetarians such as regenerating teeth, the ability to increase rumination (or recycle dung like the rabbit) and more.
I am a vegetarian out of conscience, but I know that if you don't take care to check from time to time, vegetarianism can become dangerous. I already had the chance to find out during a test that my B12 level had dropped to the lower threshold of the norm, which led me to take pills for a certain period to replenish my B12 supply
By the way: not all viruses come from meat. Where did you get such a strange claim? You also don't get the swine flu from eating meat.

  7. One of the problems was that the virus also contained fragments of bird flu. According to the provision, is it also forbidden to eat poultry?

  8. A, stop confusing your brain and start living.
We have 90 years to live, and I don't have time to waste half of it thinking about how we can extend all this by another year.

  9. Pine
It is not about punishments but about conclusions and difficulties and things acquired and learned.
It's not about black and white, just like it's not about complete vegetarianism versus total meatiness.
    It's not all or nothing.
It is about things learned over years and generations and the values of the small and big subtleties to distinguish between the main and the bland in an acquired and learned way that passes from the parents' generations to the next generations, through the transformations and changes of the times, and the minds of the perceptions and understandings accordingly = difficult.
There is a joke about Judaism and pigs:
Why is a Jew forbidden to eat pork? Because he is not allowed to eat himself (with him, as he pleases).
Parash: The characteristic of the Jewish people is to taste everything, eat everything, learn from everything, but also heal and worship everything.
    Think about it.

  10. for A,
I wrote "many times" - I know people whose doctors require them to supplement their diet, such as iron, and others with pills.

But again, I support vegetarianism - but certainly not because of this or that "spiritual experience" (also, I personally can't give up steaks 🙂 ). Good luck with your vegetarianism!

  11. Oren, you have a mistake,
There is no need to supplement from "external sources" and I am speaking to you as a vegan who feeds only on plants and completely rejects any exploitation of animals (just as I reject any exploitation of humans)

For more information, you are invited to browse the website of Shebi (Liberation of Animals Israel)

  12. Or does it mean that we have to kill all the animals...hmmm. Maybe you're onto something!
Pharaonic plagues, any chance your name rhymes with "Mogin"?

The ability to draw conclusions is extremely weak. There are other reasons I appreciate people who manage to be vegetarian, and it's not out of fear that a "higher power" or other entity wants to punish me. And not because of negative energies... I believe that animals do suffer, and even though other carnivorous animals live without qualms because that's how they have to survive, that doesn't mean we can't adapt without meat. I think Michael feels like me (and he didn't turn to not eating meat because he was afraid of the punishment of some higher power...)

  13. AIDS plague
    Avian Influenza
    The Crazy Cow
    Swine Flu..
It also took Ramses a while to understand (if he even knew how to understand) when to free the weak-minded and forgetful from the slush, mud, mortar and material.
It will also take time for us to understand when to stop working hard under the burden of 'computer hardware' and its arrogant, hard-headed, hard-hearted scientists...and falcons to the spirit.

  14. hook,
Where did you come to the conclusion that the human body is not meant to eat food?!
Wolves also get viruses from meat they sometimes eat, maybe they weren't meant to be either?

Fact... our biology was designed to be omnivores, that's how we evolved. Maybe you believe that "mother" Earth is punishing us for eating her children?
So Mother Earth needs lessons because she probably hasn't heard that predators are part of the biological system and they help maintain balance (overbreeding, and plant maintenance, etc.).

It's not that I'm against vegetarians, on the contrary - I wish I could be one, but to say that we're not meant for that is something else. It is a fact that people who have chosen to be vegetarians have to take care of supplementing their diet many times from external sources.
The virus, like any living creature, simply tries to adapt, and what can be done that the most successful try to find new ways to adapt and reach us (and any other virus).

  15. All these viruses come from meat
Animal meat causes 300 different diseases and viruses in the body
The human body is not programmed to eat animal flesh
It's despicable habits we acquired from childhood...
Become a vegetarian and all your problems will be solved!
