The "Sages even at night" project is taking place for the second year under the auspices of the European Union, known as "Scientists' Night" and will be held throughout Europe on September 28, with the aim of bringing the general public closer to scientists and stimulating interest in the various science topics.
At the same time, a national children's drawing competition "Draw me a scientist" is held. The painting exhibition will be displayed in the rotating exhibition pavilion in the Keller Science Garden at the Weizmann Institute of Science and will open on September 24th as part of the "Smart Even in the Night" events. The night life of the bats at the Hebrew University

One of the interesting activities in "Sages (even) by night" is a tour following the nightlife of the bats at the Edmond Y. Safra campus, Givat Ram at the Hebrew University. The tour will be guided by doctoral student Asaf Tzoer from the Institute of Life Sciences in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Hebrew University. On the tour, which will be accompanied by a lecture on the life of bats, the participants will make observations using special equipment that picks up the sonar signals of the bats and translates them into sounds that humans can hear. According to Tzoer, in the vicinity of the campus in Givat Ram live several dozen bats, belonging to three species: one species of fruit eaters and two species of insect eaters.

A night safari will be held at the Jerusalem Bird Research Center near the government building in Givat Ram, where the participants will follow a variety of animals, including birds, porcupines, bats and more.

In "Sages (also) at night" there will be more activities and lectures: "Shedding light" - watching chemical reactions that manifest themselves in the emission of spectacular light; "Glowing in DNA" - Knowledge of advanced tools in genetic engineering and their use for forensic purposes. "Seizing the light by its horns" - breaking down light into its components and demonstrating laser technologies, while discussing the structure of the atom; "Glimpses of Science" - activities under the guidance of a team of science-seeking youth in chemistry, astronomy, biology and physics; "Space flights - past and future", a lecture by Dr. Dima Burstein; "Catastrophes" - a lecture on celestial bodies that cross the Earth's orbit and threaten to harm it; and "Medicine and Biology in Space" - a lecture on surprising experiments conducted in zero gravity and medical treatment of astronauts. (The last two lectures will be given by graduate students at the Hebrew University).

The participants will also be invited to observe the planets through telescopes of the Hebrew University, at the Edmond Y. Safra campus, Givat Ram and two other observation points in the city. During the observation, the participants will learn how the mechanism of the telescope works.
