Last week, the team of SpaceIL engineers and the Aerospace Industry downloaded a series of pictures of the Earth taken at different altitudes from the Beresheet spacecraft.

Last Wednesday, the mission engineers made a move to change the plane of Genesis' orbit to the moon.
Yoav Landsman, senior engineer at SpaceIL explains: "The difference from the other maneuvers in which we accelerated the spacecraft to increase the orbit, this time we changed the plane of the orbit, to slightly change its angle, and thus we will reach the lunar orbit at exactly the optimal time and place.

Efi, the project manager on behalf of the Aerospace Industry adds: "To date we have done three major maneuvers that increased our altitudes. This time we made a maneuver to straighten our course so that the moon captures us optimally.

  1. Amazing picture, it's a shame that the mission was not successful in the end. Does anyone know what went wrong there? Let's hope we do better next time.
