Obama wants to be the first environmental president

Obama also promises in his speech to restore science and return it to its rightful place, and to restore the education system to adapt its graduates to the digital age

US President

President-elect Barack Obama, in his speech, also addressed the issues of science, technology and the environment. "We will restore science and return it to its rightful place, we will use the wonders of technology to improve medical care and reduce costs. We will harvest the sun and the wind and the earth to fuel our cars and power the factories. We will change the system of schools, colleges and universities so that they can meet the demands of the new era. We can do all this and we will do it."

at WHITEHOUSE.GOV Obama unfolds his vision in all fields, including the scientific and environmental fields.

As for the environment, he seeks to create five million new jobs through a strategic investment of $150 million over the next ten years in order to accelerate private efforts to build a future based on clean energy. In these ten years we will save more fuel than we currently import from the Middle East and Venezuela combined; We will promote the use of hybrid cars that can travel 150 miles per gallon - and we will make sure that a million such cars are on the road by 2015, cars that we will make sure are built in America. We will guarantee that 10% of our electricity will come from renewable sources by 2015, and 25% by 2025; We will implement the carbon trading program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050.

As for technology, Obama wants us to be the first generation to reshape our economy to compete in the digital age. We must set high standards for our schools and give them the resources they need to succeed. We must hire a new army of researchers and give them better salaries and support in exchange for responsibility and accountability. Our colleges need to be more affordable, and we need to invest in scientific research, and put high-bandwidth lines into cities and rural towns across America.

  1. In any case, I saw an interesting article today in Maariv/nrg by Raz Godelnik, following Obama's inauguration. averages), for the benefit of anyone who is considering a green career..
Very exciting for everyone who holds this trend close to their heart.

  2. Michael:
    Thanks.
I also spoke with my father this morning, and following the (telephone) clarification, he deleted and changed the 'Semitic' reference that was out of place on his part to 'what's new'.
In any case, I also hope that the majority of the BA understand what poles are: legibility, contrasts. And what are projections in the paramedial projection to the apex, and a little Hebrew despite my 'disturbed' world of images and questions.. 😉
It also turns out that "Shakshuka" did finally come out, at the whim of "what's new" who concocted a plot "himself"... to get him involved. :)

I think this is a series of misunderstandings.
I think it's really hard to understand what you meant by your words in the first response (I do think I understand, but it's not surprising that there are those who didn't understand). It was not necessary to use the terms poles and charges to make the idea clear. On the contrary - as is evident from the development of the discussion - this usage is only confusing.
What's new - whether he understood your intention or not - he understood like me that there was no need to involve scientific terms here and he described his feeling in a way that also expressed his displeasure at introducing an unnecessary complication. I do not sense any chauvinism in his words and they seem to me in general to be a legitimate response - even if not a sympathetic response.
The only flaw in his words is the reference to your real name - something that constitutes an infringement of your privacy.
In the response in which you quoted the internet rules, you tried (in my understanding) to direct my father's attention to the problematic nature of revealing the name, but it is possible that by quoting such a long section, the forest disappears for the trees. It would have been better if you had explicitly said that revealing the name is illegal and referred to the source via a link so that those who want to delve deeper can do so. That way you would present the forest and leave the trees for those who want to delve deeper and you would also save the discussion about the possible violation of the copyright of the person who originally wrote the piece.
At some point my father got confused (I think) when he recognized the reference to "Abby Blizovsky" as an attempt to impersonate.
I happened to talk to him on the phone yesterday evening and I know he was sick at the time. I have no doubt that this confusion was caused by his illness.
My father never gave backing to chauvinism or evil.
He is simply trying to fairly maneuver the fine line between legitimate conversation and unbridled evil ramblings and it is not surprising that his judgment on the matter may occasionally differ from someone else's.
In general, it is clear that the publication of Avi's response should not be seen as an agreement with the program - especially in light of the fact that some of the responses are directed personally against him and some of this part is worded in rather blunt language.
In my opinion, considering the circumstances in which there is no way to please everyone all the time, Avi does an excellent job and succeeds in facilitating an open, free and factual discussion without any limitations, while preventing the drift into irrelevant and uncivilized discussions.

  4. Michael:
The section that was forwarded to my father with the reference "to my father Blizovsky" (emphasis on the letter L in the reference that extends to ..) in order to 'signal' him to pay attention to the violation on behalf of 'What's New' is the part from Internet Laws that talks about the commenter's *** right to anonymity, from A site that deals with internet laws for all surfers.
By the way, what's new is not familiar to me, otherwise he wouldn't have asked,,, this is all in all another chauvinistic jab, not relevant, and in any case, shows his poverty and shallow understanding both of the geometric abstraction and of the philosophical statement that the sentence simulates in borrowing, not to mention an unequivocal and inferior offense in referring to it specific and not to the virtual 'nickname'!! It is clear to anyone with an understanding that this is about opacity, bad name and a crude attempt to hit below the belt with the backing of the head of the site.

  5. Avi:
I think you didn't understand the request.
The outrage is not about the joke but about the disclosure of H's name
    It may be illegal.

  6. For those trying to impersonate me, a copy is a copy. There is no other definition for it. The site you copied from is not a content partner. Besides, this is the last time I argue with Anonymous. I don't have to answer to anyone.

  7. Not every joke has to become a scandal.
If someone were to ask me if I knew how to make shakshuka, I would laugh at most.
I understand that there is someone here who is trying to reign terror on the site and replace me as the editor, maybe he believes in a different science that will be respected and open his own site. But this is my house and I have to behave accordingly.

  8. Don't make a joke out of yourself. He has no right to mention a confidential name!!
Second, this is not a copy, but a transfer.

  9. To my father Blizovsky
Your comment violated the copyright of the authors of the article you copied. Send a link to it and we will link to the copy instead.
And to your point, I see no justification for claiming defamation in response 2. Just a joke.

  10. ❗ ❗ :!: You must delete / censor comment 2 in order to maintain the privacy of the commenters and their dignity.

  11. The ideas are beautiful and I hope that the intention is also good and correct to realize them.
Obama was probably elected because he is black. If he succeeds in changing something in the racist attitude of the world towards the black man - he will be condemned. Racist youth is a terrible disease and the choice of Obama is a choice that can make a lot of waves and leverage the equality between people without color differences (of course the gender differences still need to be corrected, maybe in the next presidential election there will be a Chinese candidate).

Let's hope he succeeds. Let's hope he will be a friend. Let's hope it's good (and hope some Jesse Jackson doesn't come out of the closet, God forbid).

    Greetings friends,
    Ami Bachar

  12. H

You made a salad of technical terms,
Do you know how to make a shakshuka from the same terms?

  13. Too many poles and charges are hanging on the same vertex, especially during a crisis. I would lower expectations and the level of ambitions in order not to be disappointed.
