The executive committee of Tel Aviv University approved this evening the search committee's proposal to appoint Dr. Giora Yaron to the position of chairman of the university's executive committee.
Dr. Yaron is considered one of the founding fathers of the hi-tech industry in Israel and many years of technological and professional leadership and successful entrepreneurship are credited to him.
Dr. Yaron has a bachelor's degree in physics and mathematics and a PhD in applied physics from the Hebrew University. He registered six patents and published more than twenty scientific articles.

Dr. Giora Yaron currently serves, among other things, as the founder and chairman of the board of directors of the ITAMAR MEDICAL company and of the QWINT company. In addition, he serves as a member of the boards of directors of Amdocs, Rafale, Ipsos and the Ministry of Defense.
Prof. Yosef Klefter, president of Tel Aviv University, congratulated Dr. Yaron, and noted that his joining the university, as chairman of the executive committee, opens up new horizons for the university. "A person of stature and with academic, entrepreneurial and business experience will undoubtedly contribute to the advancement of the institution," he said.
