Accenture, which provides management consulting, IT services and outsourcing worldwide, has been awarded a four and a half year contract to provide technology services and application outsourcing for the European Space Agency (ESA).
Accenture's global retirement system in the world will be used for the maintenance of the upgraded system and the existing applications, which will support the activities of ESA personnel in the 18 member countries of the agency. In addition, the system must support a budget activity of 3 billion euros and the management of approximately 4,000 employees and contractors.
As part of the contract, Accenture will support the financial management reform of the agency, which includes a change of the financial model and the information systems related to it.
Accenture will manage the program and the implementation of the financial management model in partnership with ESA. The agreement includes the planning, construction and implementation of the business, operational and technical model; Replacing the current information systems in the agency with a single solution from SAP. The launch of the first and most significant update in the program is expected in January 2010.
