Drones, connected cars and state-of-the-art digital devices will be at the center of the annual conference of the microelectronics industry in Israel

A new generation of modern products including unmanned drones, connected cars and modern digital devices will be presented at the ChipEx2016 conference - the largest international conference of the microelectronics industry in Israel. The world of computing is changing before our eyes, and if in the past microprocessors were only found in computers and advanced communication systems, today you can find advanced chips in almost every electronic product, from refrigerators and washing machines to cars and drones. The multitude of applications enables the development of the market but also adds complexity in the development of products with high performance capability together with minimal voltage consumption and minimal cost.

During the ChipEx2016 conference, the most innovative products and technologies that have been recently developed in Israel and around the world will be presented. The conference will include about 50 lecturers and facilitators from all over the world and is considered the professional summit meeting of all those involved in the design, development, and manufacture of chips, components, electronic cards and integrated systems. This year the conference will be held on May 9, 2016 at the fair center, the exhibition grounds in Tel Aviv and about 1,500 industry people are expected to participate.

Among the participants at ChipEx2016, Johnny Srouji, senior vice president at Apple, John Newfer, president of SIA - the American Chip Industry Association, Erwin Federman, the legendary venture capital investor from Silicon Valley (the investor behind SanDisk, Mellanox, GoPro and Checkpoint) as well as someone who previously served as the chairman of the American Chip Industry Association, Prof. Steve Farber, developer of the ARM processor architecture - the most popular for smart phones, Paul de Bot, director of emerging businesses at the chip giant TSMC, Prof. Uri Weiser, developer of the Pentium architecture At Intel, Satinder Paul Singh, Huawei's expert in the field of IOT, Prof. Z. Wong, an analog chip development expert at Tsinghua University, Hasan Trikoi, CEO of the Secure - IC company specializing in information security for the chip field, and Ronan Steyer, senior director and chip development expert for the automotive industry at the global NXP company.
Shlomo Gerdman, general chairman of ChipEx2016, says: "The microelectronics industry has always been considered one of the most advanced industries at the fastest pace, even in relation to other parts of the technology world. Today, with the meteoric development of the digital devices market, industrial engineers are forced to face new and more difficult challenges than before.

This year we decided to allow the people of the industry to learn from the best global experts about modern tools and creative development methods that will allow them to improve their work and become more efficient in a significant way. The ChipEx2016 conference has become a household name in the global industry, so this year too many experts and suppliers are expected to come especially to Israel to take part in this important conference.
About 100 companies supplying components, tools and services, from the USA, Italy, Germany, France, Great Britain, Russia, the Netherlands, Belgium, India, Japan, China and Taiwan, will present at the exhibition innovative tools and services offered to the local microelectronics industry and 50 lecturers and experts will participate at the professional conference.

About 1,500 people from the industry are expected to participate in the conference, including engineers, development managers, vice presidents, CEOs of companies in the field of microelectronics, venture capital investors and professional experts for the industry.

The ChipEx2016 conference is organized by TapeOut, the magazine of the Israeli chip industry and Chiportal in collaboration with SIA - the industry association in the USA, and Semi - the international association of companies in the field of chips.

All the professional lectures at ChipEx2016 were selected by a professional steering committee consisting of senior academics and industry members headed by Prof. Ran Ginosar, head of the Research Center for VLSI Systems at the Technion and professional chairman of ChipEx2016.
