On March 25-29, 2007, the third Camp Evolution workshop will be held at the Sde Boker seminary, which will deal with the subject of genetics and human evolution. The workshop will include several lectures by Noah Rosenberg, from the Department of Human Genetics and the Bioinformatics Program at the University of Michigan in Ann Harbor. Presentations by other participants from the academy in Israel and around the world will also be presented at the conference.
The workshop will cover the results of the latest research on the genetic diversity of humans, which appears from the latest genomic research. Among the topics discussed at the conference - the history and genetic structure of human populations, the role of natural selection during the spread of humans to new environments, as well as the spatial aspect of genetic variation. Reviews will also be given on approaches and software for data analysis that have been used for fruitful research both in the field of human evolution and in the field of molecular ecology.
