Professor Boaz Golani - Vice President of the Technion for Foreign Relations and Resource Development

Professor Boaz Golani was appointed as the Technion's vice president for foreign relations and resource development, replacing Professor Rafi Rom, who completed a three-year term. He holds the Samuel Gurney Chair of Engineering and until now served as Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management. Professor Golani graduated in 1982 with a bachelor's degree (with distinction) in industrial engineering and management (IT) at the Technion and received a PhD from the School of Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin (1985). He has been a faculty member in the Faculty of Information Technology at the Technion since 1986.
Prof. Golani served as a sub-editor and a member of the editorial board of several professional journals in the fields of industrial engineering, performance research and management sciences. He has published over 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals and about 15 chapters in various books. Prof. Golani guided about 40 paying students to higher degrees and some of them currently serve as faculty members in universities and colleges in Israel.

Prof. Golani also served as a consultant to a large number of companies and organizations in Israel and the US, including government authorities (in the fields of transportation, education, health and security); Energy companies (the refineries, the electric company); companies in the financial sector (banks); Industrial companies (plastic manufacturers, consumer products, measuring devices); Escort companies (fast food); and information technologies (Internet platforms).
