Bar-Ilan University added a seventh faculty yesterday: the Faculty of Engineering. The faculty is an upgrade of the engineering school that has been operating at the university for about a decade. Recently, the Higher Education Council recognized the school as a faculty due to its high level of achievements in teaching and research.
At the end of this month, an eighth faculty will be added to Bar-Ilan University with the opening of the Galilee Faculty of Medicine in the city of Safed.
In a celebratory ceremony held yesterday at the Faculty of Engineering, the President of Bar-Ilan University, Prof. Moshe Koa, said, "From a faculty of 600 bachelor's degree graduates per year and 25 teaching and research standards, the faculty will soon reach a thousand graduates per year in all degrees and 50 faculty members. "
The dean of the faculty, Prof. George Mushitz said that the faculty is at the forefront of the institutions for engineering studies in the world and offers prestigious high-level study programs.
