Alleged alien abductees showed symptoms of battle shock * New Age healers responsible for hallucination

These healers, who excuse any sleep disorder with a UFO abduction, are responsible for the similar story of millions of Americans, even though none of them were actually abducted

People who claim to have been abducted by aliens tend to believe in fantasies and suffer from sleep disturbances. This is what scientists who reported at the annual conference of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) found at the conference that is currently taking place in Denver, Colorado.
However, the researchers also say that the "abductees" also believe in their experiences so deeply that they show deep symptoms of anxiety and stress, similar to soldiers suffering from battle shock.
This phenomenon emphasizes the power of emotional belief," said Prof. Richard McNeely from Harvard University. If you truly believe that you have been traumatized and you relive these memories, you will see the same psycho-physiological signs as people who have had a real experience."
"I had several encounters with extraterrestrials who came in spaceships and even put a part in my body and took it out later" the BBC quotes the abductees one by one. This is a typical story for many people who claim kidnapping. It is estimated that there are about 4 million Americans today who believe they have been abducted by aliens. The scientists are sure that none of them were abducted, so why do the alleged abductees claim that they were taken?
Prof. McNeely found that most of them have similar personality characteristics and suffer from sleep disorders. Most of the abductees also believe in New Age beliefs - bio-energy healings, past lives, astral projections, tarot cards, and so on. Second, they suffered from peaceful sleep paralysis with hallucinations.
These terrifying experiences prompted sufferers to visit healers who often suggested abduction by aliens as the cause — an explanation the patients accepted, McNeely said. Thus the rational explanation for the phenomenon is that these people all came together to a common idea and agreed with it.
However, many psychiatrists who participated in the meeting claimed that these people really believed in what they were curating. In laboratory studies, people who had such an experience were asked to relate their experiences. "The stories came back to them and their physical reactions were recorded." When combatants who fought in Vietnam return to a particular battle, their heart rate is increased and you can see that they are sweating. If they don't have post-traumatic disorders, they wouldn't behave like this.
Strong heartbeats and increased sweating were evident in the 'alien abductees' when they told the story of their abduction and exploitation by the aliens and the impact of the traumatic events could be felt again.
