Comprehensive coverage

Garbage "culture".

A subject that deserves to be checked is the environmental activity in all that concerns garbage, where the correct order is "reduce, reuse, recycle", but this is probably contrary to the hedonistic culture

Garbage is an inseparable factor of human social life. Calculate how many things you threw away every day, every week every year. It turns out that the people living in Zion compete with the residents of the USA in the production of household garbage and to make matters worse they also specialize in scattering it under every fresh tree and in every corner.

We saw this in the form of piles of garbage placed in all the nature sites in Israel by travelers on the weekends between the closures.

There are those who refer to garbage as archaeological findings of human society, and on the other hand, there is the way in which garbage is treated in the media, since garbage is an environmental problem that is growing and growing, and therefore also a problem for human society.

Recently, the media has dealt with a variety of environmental problems, many of which are directly related to consumer behavior. Thus the call to stop using plastic in general and plastic straws in particular. To these were added the traces of the use of a variety of protections against the epidemic such as masks and disposable gloves. Garbage of this new kind is scattered in the area and its damage can be seen in the pictures that are published in the morning news. There are those who link the garbage to the "culture of hedonism, either as a direct activity or as part of the pursuit of pleasures and luxuries. In front of this "culture" stands the concern for the environment.

A subject that deserves to be checked is the environmental activity in everything that concerns garbage, where the correct order is "reduction, reuse, recycling". These are also the ones who make the garbage problem accessible to the general public and policy makers, but neither our public nor our policy makers implement.

One of the methods of waste treatment is recycling. It turns out that usually the recyclers belong to certain groups that depend on gender, occupation and economic level. For example, in Pune thatIn India there is a group of women  that collect trash for recycling, and a similar group in a town in South Africa. Whereas among the general public we lack awareness.

In contrast to the recyclers, a group of wealthy consumers stands out, who constitute garbage producers mainly because of an influx after the unnecessary and offensive consumption "culture". They are joined by celebrations and mass "cultural" events in which garbage is scattered in commercial quantities, out of irresponsibility bordering on criminality. In front of the polluters, they go out with advertising and persuasion campaigns, such as an advertising system For site cleaning in Bali which should lead to the cleaning of famous tourist sites.

Studies show that in most cases when the garbage accumulates it will be in the residential environments of the poor. While the rich expect the garbage they produce to be disposed of, the poor in society do not. There are cases where those poor people who make a living from garbage collection live in close proximity to the waste removal sites.

The media does deal with garbage, but focuses more on publications about major environmental disasters and these may cause more fear than correction among society and proper behavior in handling garbage. This is the case, for example, in a book that refers to the "human era" (Anthropocene) in which the destructive offensive activity of humanity is described which caused extreme changes in the climatic systems and the destruction of the environmental systems due to the use of mineral fuel and its derivatives and especially plastic. So was the media coverage to the disaster in Mauritius.

The same was published about the connection between oil pollution to the "plastic islands" throughout the oceans. Huge plastic stains in enormous dimensions that are created because of human consumption culture.

Despite the knowledge that there is a different way of producing and spreading the pollution, and despite the understanding of the situation - the publications in the media create fear and confusion instead of instructions for correction among the public. When dealing with garbage, it is appropriate that instead of spreading fears that cause paralysis, there should be a call to the general public to act to eradicate the scourge.

The media has the means and the possibilities to contribute to changes in the public's behavior as well as to pressure official parties to act on the issue. It is our duty to do everything - from education to enforcement - to prevent our surroundings from becoming a pile of garbage.

That is why I will return again and again, because it is appropriate that instead of controlling the environment for the sake of the human population for the sake of the environment.

  1. Gargamel?
It turns out that those who identify with the image of an evil symbol
manages to express not only wickedness but also the reason
The main reason why people continue to destroy their environment,
When the reason is abysmal stupidity and ignorance erupts...

  2. More interesting is the culture of self-righteousness and tongue twisters. Everything is wrong, everyone doesn't behave well, only I know what is good and right.
It is worth research. And the writer will be the first specimen.

  3. I think it is necessary to write about practical things that can be introduced into everyday life in order to eradicate the pollution created by this phenomenon!
