The Israeli company RAVIN AI has developed a system called Inspect Trade, through which anyone can photograph the "knocks" on the car's trunk, and the software turns the video into data and analyzes it at the level of an appraiser. Anyone who has rented a car and returned it (whether short-term or leasing), and anyone who has had even a minor accident knows that the trunk of the car is a particularly sensitive area.

When you arrive at a rental or leasing company, the last thing you do before handing over the car is to look around it and mark damages in the various areas of the car, on a paper form, where you have to mark on a general diagram of the car where the damages were, so as not to blame the new customer.

Ravin's 'Inspect Trade' tool uses computer vision and deep learning-based artificial intelligence, as well as dozens of exterior and interior images of vehicles and other unique vehicle data to obtain a 360-degree view of the vehicles. These capabilities help car dealers assess the effect of the physical damage on the vehicle's value and price its value accurately to customers. Agents will now be able to easily inspect vehicles using their smartphone without the need for prior training.

Amar Perry, the product manager at Raybin AI recently presented it at the Ecomotion exhibition held in Tel Aviv. "Our product makes it possible to scan the vehicle using mobile devices and create a condition report of the vehicle with photos: details of the damage, the type of damage, the size of the damage, its location on the vehicle and more. In rented cars, we allow documentation of the vehicle at a given time to know which defects were added during the last rental. Another use - at the end of the leasing period, as in renting, an extensive scan of the vehicle is performed, in order to carry out the process of receiving the vehicle back at the leasing company and perhaps even to the seller, and of course provides a report of the condition of the vehicle to examine if there are any damages that exceed the agreement."

"Another use is when purchasing car insurance: when a person buys the car, he needs to document the car in its current condition and the insurance company will be able to see if there were any damages at the time of underwriting. Of course, the system also helps with the classic use of insurance after damage or an accident. With the help of the application you can record the condition of the vehicle and the damage and report it, then the company can correct small damages without going through the whole process of a claim, the company can direct the person to a garage and send the garage all the information so that it is ready. All of this, as mentioned, changes a page and a pen. It's funny that in 2022 they still work like this in many places."

But there are two important aspects that are not visible, because the user actually takes a normal video on the phone, but the system does not trust him, because he is not a professional in the automotive field, it could be a normal driver who got into an accident and wants to report the damage. Our system allows using artificial intelligence to generate consistent data regardless of the photographer's identity or training.

"The person feels as if he is taking a video of the vehicle and in fact the artificial intelligence is the one responsible for choosing the relevant angles from the video and photographing the damage from several angles. The system also knows how to perform the entire damage classification process. Sometimes it seems that there is only bodywork damage, but in many cases it is accompanied by internal damage that needs to be checked under the hood. Our technology, part of which is based on artificial intelligence, knows how to locate such cases and alerts professionals to the need to investigate further. Beyond the financial value to the insurance companies, the amount of scans also increases, the consistency, the fact that everything is documented prevents disagreements and of course also prevents fraud." Perry says.
