Bar Ilan University is the only Israeli university that won the sought-after grant of the European Union for an integrated International Master's Degree in Chemo-Informatics. This is an Erasmus Mundus project valued at approximately 4.5 million euros in which 10 universities from Europe and Bar-Ilan from Israel take part. This is the first time since 2012 that an Israeli university is included in this grant. The master's degree program in chemistry majoring in chemo-informatics combines two worlds of content that will advance materials science in a precise and significant way. Graduates of the program knew how to use research data to generate accurate insights and will also be able to design new materials. The president of the university Prof. Aryeh Tsavan said in reference to the matter: "This is an important development that will affect the field of sustainability. Graduates will be able to produce unique and new materials that will offer solutions to a variety of challenges related to the climate crisis."

The new major includes a variety of courses in the fields of chemistry, physics and biology alongside courses in subjects related to data science such as machine learning and networks.

The Erasmus program will enable the included universities to offer international scholarships to outstanding students who enroll for a master's degree in chemo-informatics. Bar-Ilan winning this grant is the result of the efforts and achievements of the chemistry department, which has been working for over four years to promote the field of chemo-informatics. "Being part of the consortium that won this significant grant is a great honor for Bar-Ilan University", said Prof. Moshe Levinstein, the vice president of the university. "Our partners are all leading universities in their countries, and we have a great privilege to be part of them. We are excited about our ability to offer scholarships for a unique combined degree to our deserving students."

  1. It's interesting that Europeans are generally perceived by us as anti-Semites and supporters of terrorism. Support for Beer Zeit and more...
Suddenly support from European institutions becomes kosher.
There must be a home inspection on this donation. Seems a bit crooked contribution. In my opinion, a Jewish outpost should be immediately established called: Your contribution, we will be built.
