Following questions raised by many teenagers after Rabbi Sharon's illness, it was decided at Bar-Ilan University in collaboration with the science magazine Rosh Gadol to dedicate a special issue to the subject of the brain as well as a seminar to be held at the Gonda Multidisciplinary Center for Brain Research at the university. The seminar, "Wonders of the Brain", will be held between 19:00 and 16:00.
The seminar will open the experiential-scientific activity day that is taking place for the second year under the title: "I am a scientist in Bar-Ilan", on Monday 8th of May 2006, May XNUMX, XNUMX. On the seminar day, a variety of lectures will review the functions of the brain: artificial intelligence and robotics (Dr. Gal Kaminka); Illusions of the brain (Dr. Hamotel Slovin); Adolescent obesity-it's all in your head (Dr. Orna Zagouri); The psychophysiology of love (Dr. Gilad Hirschberger); What is happening in our brain? At 19:00 p.m., the Kochavi Lekhet festival will open in the Migdal square on the main campus, and will continue until 23:00 p.m. "The festival is a scientific experience for the whole family and is open to the general public," notes Dr. Ariel Frank, head of the youth activities unit, who heads the festival and the fair. The telescope used by Albert Einstein will be displayed at the festival; A huge planetarium will display the stars of the sky; Telescopes will allow observations of the moon and the planets; A special model along a path that is 464 meters long will present the solar system on an exact relative scale; In special workshops, the children will create a map of planets; In experimental workshops, experiments in physics will be practiced, which will earn the successful ones the diploma of 'micro-professor'; Three scientific lectures will be held during the evening on the topics: "Mass extinctions and the danger of asteroids", "The Big Bang and the formation of life in the universe", "On contradictions between Torah and science: the creation of the world".

The youth activities unit at Bar-Ilan University has been operating for over 35 years and is intended for gifted students and science-seeking youth starting in the 03th grade.
