Two Israeli companies in the medical field star in the Wall Street Journal's competition

In the competition, 120 companies from 12 fields were selected, in the field of medicine the Israeli stars Givan Imaging and Insitec Image Guided Treatment

Two Israeli companies in the field of biotechnology have won awards in the technological competition organized by the American economic newspaper - Wall Street Journal every year. The editors of the newspaper select 120 leading companies in 12 technological fields, including: biotechnology and medicine, environmental quality, software, transportation hardware and more.

Regardless of Israeliness, the computer company Sun Microsystems won a gold medal for Dr. Robert Drost's research on the computing unification of processors that are close to each other but are not connected, what is called Proximity Communication, which according to estimates may improve computing speed a hundredfold.

A silver medal was won by Givan Imaging for the PillCam, that famous pill that contains a tiny camera inside to photograph and diagnose the digestive system.

A silver medal was won in another category by Insightek Image Guided Treatment from the Carmel Castle for ExAblate 2000, which is able to concentrate ultrasound energy similar to a laser beam to destroy cancer cells.
