The organization World ORT Kadima Mada revealed last night for the first time at the night of science in Dimona, a variety of activities that will be a first taste of the activities that will take place at the Platinum Center - a unique center for science and technology for youth. The center will be established at the beginning of the next academic year in cooperation with the Ministry for the Development of the Negev and the Galilee. The scope of the investment in the next two years in the Science and Technology Center in Dimona is estimated at about NIS 3 million.

This unique center is part of a joint initiative by the organization World ORT Kadima Mada and the Ministry for the Development of the Negev and the Galilee, the purpose of which is to expose youth to various fields of science and technology in order to integrate them into a scientific and technological future.

The Weizmann Institute of Science, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Midrash Sade Boker, Shenkar College and others have joined together for a unique program in diverse fields taken from the forefront of research and development in the State of Israel. Leading industry figures from the fields of hi-tech, electronics, the biomed industry, the food industry and more are integrated into this national project in order to give the project participants a unique and challenging experience.

The best minds from the fields of education and science in Israel are working on the preparation of an experiential study program based on experience and active investigation in which the participants in the various classes will be integrated. Space, applied physics, accident investigation and forensics, architecture and food engineering are just a partial list of the variety of activities to which the center will be exposed on the island and in the future.

The goal of the project leaders is to reach every boy and girl in the city while trying to get the best out of them. The motto behind the project is that within each and every one of us is a diamond of excellence in some field, and this diamond needs to be polished and honed until its beauty is evident to all.
