The startup company HC Vision who in the past won third place in the SilicoNegev competition and was accepted into the exclusive program from the Garage+ accelerator, under its sponsorship flew to Taiwan and met leaders and investors in the industry, picked up another award when it was presented as one of the ten interesting innovations for 2018 in a competition on behalf of inVISION magazine.

The company was founded on the basis of joint and ongoing research by Prof. Ohad Ben-Shahar and doctoral students Boaz Arad and Omer Schwartz in the field of computational vision. During their research, the researchers realized that the hyperspectral reconstruction technologies they developed have a unique application potential.

Hyperspectral systems enable the processing and analysis of complex information at different wavelengths from the electromagnetic spectrum, beyond the capabilities of the simple consumer camera and the human eye. Until now, the market has relied on slow and expensive hyperspectral systems, so in recent years the demand for cheap, portable and fast systems has been steadily increasing.

its development of the HC Vision company allows the use of the existing sensor in the cameras for the purpose of reproducing hyperspectral information through a unique software solution without dependence on expensive professional equipment. The implementation of the development in the existing sensors opens a window for a significant improvement in the facial recognition security which has penetrated the mobile device market recently and the ability to take photos in low light conditions, something that is considered difficult and in high demand in the mobile device industry.

Now the founders of the company tell about the existence of negotiations with stakeholders from many sectors in the various industries, such as the home technology industry, the automobile and the cell phone.
