The American space agency, NASA, plans to launch two weather satellites into space next month in order to study the development of clouds. The two will be launched from the same rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

The two satellites, Cloud-Sat and Calypso are planned to be launched starting on October 26 and will join three other research satellites that examine the development of clouds and their effect on weather changes around the world.

Calypso CloudSat and Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations (Calipso) will be launched into orbit around the Earth as part of the "A-train" constellation - a group of satellites observing the Earth. Calypso will provide the next generation of climate observations, including advanced cloud and aerosol research, and will greatly improve our ability to predict climate change and study the air we breathe.
