In the formal education system, schools are responsible for building the foundations of scientific knowledge, but they are not prepared to deal with the latest innovations and updates in the field of science and technology. The contemporary science workshop, which operates within the framework of formal education, tries to provide an answer to this problem.

As part of the workshop, a variety of curricula have been developed that are given in the afternoons to outstanding and interested students from around the region, as a supplement and addition to the basics they acquire in schools, and they are recognized by the Ministry of Education as part of the matriculation curriculum. The study programs include unique subjects in the fields of computer science, physics, chemistry, and environmental science. The course programs bring the students together with leading scientists in academia - but also with researchers in knowledge-intensive industries. Alongside the lectures, emphasis is given to tours, practical experience, advanced experiments, and informal encounters with modern science and technology - in all its aspects. Courses such as energy and the environment, astronomy and astrophysics, surface physics, and more are included among the subjects taught at the Contemporary Science Academy.

In the current school year, about 450 students are studying at Olpana in the following six courses: MH - Computational Science; Computer science, academia and industry; Physics and its industry*; energy and environment*; astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology*; Soft and messy material*.

An evening of exposure to the studio programs marked with an asterisk will be held on Sunday, May 31, 18th of Nisan 00, between the hours of 20:00-XNUMX:XNUMX at the Davidson Institute for Science Education on the campus of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot
