The Amos 17 satellite was successfully launched at 02:23 from the US Air Force Base in Cape Canaveral on a SpaceX Falcon 9 launcher. The first stage burned for approximately 2:25 minutes, successfully disconnected and the engines of the second stage were activated. Amos 17 on the way to the parking lot. After a few laps, Amos 17 will qualify for his route at an altitude of 36 km. After he arrives there, within a few weeks, another two months will be required for tests, before the start of his commercial activities in providing television and internet services to Africa.

The first stage of the launcher made its third and final journey and at SpaceX it was decided not to land it for reuse. This made it possible to burn it for thirty seconds longer than usual (because no fuel should be left for landing) and thus it would be possible to increase the thrust and save fuel in the satellite itself.

The article published at midnight, about two hours before the launch:

The Israeli satellite "Amos 17" will be launched into space according to the plan on Wednesday, August 7 (01:52 Israel time), from the Cape Canaveral Space Center in Florida. The satellite, which was designed and characterized by a space-communications company, built by Boeing and launched by SpaceX, is intended to provide services mainly to the growing African continent. The selection of these leading companies and their advanced technologies enabled the construction of a unique satellite with an expected 20-year service life and establishing the international position of Haal Kommunikation as an innovative communications service provider.

The company stated that the launch of Amos 17, which brings to light important global cooperation, the application of innovative technologies and the provision of service to the growing continent in the world, is an important milestone in Israeli space activities and in the implementation of a vision of communication space in the future to integrate additional advanced satellites into the existing fleet, which provides a broad response to countries and companies around the world. Already at this stage, the company has accumulated orders for communication services in Africa and other services in the amount of approximately 58 million dollars and the company anticipates that after the launch, the intensive sales moves will mature into additional large contracts.

According to the CEO of Halal Communications David Pollak, "Amos 17 strengthens the capabilities of Halal Communications to provide satellite communications users with advanced and complete solutions (Turn Key Solutions), which include, among other things, communication network planning, the layout of ground stations and broadcast stations, remote site management and a support system including. Amos 17 is an HTS (High Throughput) digital satellite, the only one designed to provide cellular and telecom operators with a solution with a clear economic and operational advantage for the unique needs required in Africa, which is characterized by remote and isolated areas where the population density is sparse and there is no justification for investing in ground infrastructure."

"Space-Communications has deep and many years of familiarity in Africa with government and civil clients in the areas of internet, data, video and TV channels. The company currently provides services to the continent through the Amos 4 and Amos 7 satellites, and together with Amos 17 the company will provide full service to its customers from all three satellites at the same time. According to the forecasts, the population of the African continent in 2025 will be approximately 1.5 billion inhabitants, with the highest proportion of the young population and with accelerated growth in consumption and infrastructure."

"The unique design, the technologies incorporated into it and its ideal planned location in the space above the continent, allow Amos 17 to cover every country in Africa with a dedicated beam, with ultra-broadband and the highest level of service availability. The advanced digital technology will allow customers to receive diverse services at high speed, at a better cost and efficiency, such as services with a particularly high level of availability for telecom operators and governments, transmission of television services to millions of viewers, transmission of broadband data communication through small terminals, use of three different frequency ranges, and more."

Pollak further adds that Space-Communications is the pioneer in Israel in the field of international satellite communication activities and has created infrastructure and sky point assets in space, which are the basis for international satellite communication. The launch of the Amos 17 satellite is a significant and strategic milestone for the continued establishment of Israel's position in space and the growth of society. Amos 17 is a technology-rich project, which is a significant and high-quality reinforcement of the company's satellite fleet in terms of capacity, operational flexibility, increased supply in coverage areas and technological superiority. The unique Turn Key Solutions services for a variety of uses will give our customers a unique competitive advantage and expand the company's opportunities in the coming years, Polk adds.

Halal-Communication is a public company traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Halal-Communications is engaged in the provision of satellite communication services to its customers, using satellites it owns placed in various sky points. Space-communications customers include, among others, companies that provide multi-channel television, television broadcast networks, state authorities that need communication satellites for the transmission of information of all kinds, companies engaged in the transmission of information, telephony and broadband Internet as well as entities that use VSAT networks. Space-Communications provides satellite communication services to its customers throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
