The General Assembly of the Israel National Academy of Sciences elected six new members to the Academy

From now on, the academy will have 132 members

At the general assembly meeting of the Israel National Academy of Sciences held this week (Tuesday, 11th in Sivan 2019 / June 132, 2019), six new members were elected to the academy, which will now number XNUMX members and members. The Academy will mark the joining of the new members to its ranks in a festive ceremony that will be held on Hanukkah XNUMX at the Academy House in Jerusalem.
And these are the new members:

• Prof. Yehuda Leibs, Department of Israel Thought, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
• Prof. Yonatan Meir, Department of Israeli Thought, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
• Prof. Aharon Meman, Department of Hebrew Language, Hebrew University of Jerusalem
• Prof. Ilan Mark, Shulich Faculty of Chemistry, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology
• Prof. Michael Stone, Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
• Prof. Yehuda Sheinfeld, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University and Haim Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer

The president of the academy, Prof. Neely Cohen, sent her congratulations to the new members and said that the academy is blessed with the addition of these elite researchers who have the power to strengthen it and help fulfill its tasks to strengthen science in Israel.
