Tel Aviv University and Ramot announce a research partnership with Johnson & Johnson

Tel Aviv University, Ramot Lid Tel Aviv University Ltd., and Johnson and Johnson Corporate Office of Science and Technology (COSAT) jointly announced the establishment of an applied research fund to prove technological feasibility at Tel Aviv University. The fund will be designated to finance research in the field of life sciences, which will meet the needs of the industry in the fields of healing, diagnostic means, innovative medical technologies, new medical materials and medical devices.

The fund will be funded in equal parts by the contribution of COSAT and the Tel Aviv University's Colton Institute Foundation for Next Generation Technologies. The Colton Institute works to encourage and develop innovative technologies emerging in the research laboratories of Tel Aviv University, with the aim of realizing their application potential. A joint committee, chaired by the Vice President of Tel Aviv University for Research and Development and with the participation of members of the scientific advisory committee of the institute and a representative from COSAT, will examine the projects that will be submitted for review and will select from among them those suitable for receiving funding.

The foundation continues a long and successful tradition of collaboration between Tel Aviv University researchers, COSAT and Ramot. "We are happy to continue and strengthen the research partnership with Tel Aviv University" stated Dr. Johnny Catalano-Sherman from COSAT. "The contribution and involvement of Johnson & Johnson representatives will help lead the selected projects to the maximum realization of the potential inherent in them for the well-being of patients and the community," added Prof. Hagit Maser-Yeron, Vice President of Tel Aviv University for Research and Development.
