The space shuttle Endeavor took off tonight (02:55 Israel time) on its way to the International Space Station. So far it seems that the night launch (even at Cape Canaveral it is already dark, the time there was 19:55) seems successful.

The seven members of the STS-126 mission team will spend three spacewalks mainly to repair the propulsion system of one of the solar collectors that has broken down, thus preventing the collector from rotating so that it follows the sun. The astronauts will also install living rooms, toilets and an additional bathing facility to allow the station to be upgraded to permanently house six astronauts instead of three.

In addition, the station will become more independent with the installation of a special water purification facility, including the absorption of water vapor from the air and even the recycling of passengers' urine. The system purifies the water at such a high purification level that it can also be used for drinking.

The shuttle will also be carried in it Experiments by Colorado school children, to follow the fluttering of butterflies and the way spiders spin their webs in the absence of gravity.

  1. to my father,

Continue to censor any debate with the Pope of the site
    He is never wrong.
If you were in the 16th century and Galileo wanted to post on the site then you probably wouldn't agree
Because your pope, the man of the establishment, would explain that Ptolemy was right that the earth is at the center of the universe,
    And he is never wrong.
You also censor Judas, apparently because of the decisive opinion of your Pope,
And this instead of publishing and allowing a free discussion if as many respond as possible.
For Amalia, most of her comments are not related to science and are often contradictory, you allowed her to publish
The musing is interesting and interesting.

  2. Well done to my father
And if you want, I am willing to volunteer to do the work of censorship.
I promise you that everyone will be happy and you will be able to sleep more.

    Sweet sleep my father

  3. Friends:
I hope you know how to appreciate the fact that in order to convey this kind of news while it is still relevant, my father has to work while we are all asleep.
The truth is, I have no idea how he manages to keep up with the workload he has taken on and presents us with new material every day.
    Stunning.
