This is due to severe weather at the launch site in Cape Canaveral
Disappointment at NASA. The space agency had to postpone the launch of the space shuttle Discovery for mission STS-116 scheduled for 04:35 this morning, due to severe weather.Earlier in the evening, the ice formation monitoring team observed that ice had indeed formed in the colored dome area of the shuttle's external fuel tank. After brief discussions it was decided that this piece of ice did not endanger the shuttle or its crew.
However, a cold front moved towards the Kennedy space center area and brought with it clouds and winds - the speed of these were the main reason for the cancellation of the launch. By the way, the forecast for tomorrow and the following days does not bode well either.
