The four astronauts of Atlantis, docked at the International Space Station, woke up this morning (Wednesday) to the sound of the song "Rocket Man" by Elton John, followed by a special greeting to the crew members from the artist himself.
"Good morning Atlantis. This is Elton John" said the recording "I wish you success in your mission and many thanks to all the men and women at NASA who have worked on the shuttle project for the past three decades.
Mission Commander Chris Ferguson was delighted by the gesture. "thank you for the greetings. It's good to be here in space." The song served the astronauts four times as a wake-up song during the thirty years of the project, NASA officials said.
After waking up at 09:29 Israel time, the astronauts began another routine day of transferring equipment from the Raphaleo module to the space station. Yesterday, as you remember, two astronauts from the space station team, Ron Garan and Mike Possum, held a spacewalk that was mainly intended to transfer the cooling system that broke down about a year ago for testing it on Earth.
