Dune

In a country where there is no death sentence, a Supreme Court judge passed a death sentence on many animals and plants that lived in Samar Sands

For several years, the residents of Eilat and green bodies have been trying to prevent the destruction of "Dionat - Samar". Despite significant achievements for the environment and nature conservation, we recently witnessed how the lack of knowledge of the facts and the terrain... or in other words how ignorance can cause fatal injury...

The battle for the Samar sands has been going on for a long time, contractors and their supporters are keeping an eye on one of the few southern dunes that survived the "building and development boom". Sand is a sought-after product as an ingredient in building houses, building roads and developing infrastructure, after most of the sand on the seashore (high school) was robbed (since the completion of the Aswan Dam there has been no regeneration of the sand on our shores), the "developers" turned to the dunes and thus destroyed and continue to destroy the dunes in Ashdod, Nitzanim and all along the coastal plain.

Dunes are a unique and special habitat that with the "help" of the contractors is disappearing and disappearing. In the south, too, they are developing and building a development that ran over and robbed hundreds of dunams of dune, the few that survived, the dune on the border of Jordan east of Samar was for many years a daily "playground" for the residents of the area and at night the dune is characterized by a diverse and rich activity of birds, insects, mammals and reptiles, some of which are unique to the southern corner and are not found In other places.

All are condemned to death because of the rigidity and ignorance of the "deciders". Not far from the dune that was condemned to Kalli there are sand mountains that obscure the view, sand mountains that were evident as a byproduct of the copper mines of Timna, in the midst of the discussion about the future of the dunes, I suggested to the contractors and the "deciders" to use the sand mountains for the purpose of continuing the construction.... without response.

In the USA, every local judge knows how to rule in favor of nature and the environment, the European Union condemned and fined Sweden for allowing the "thinning" of wolves, here...? Apparently the ivory growers do not see the natural environment, otherwise rulings on environmental matters cannot be explained, the death blow to the sand dune in Samar was given by a judge of the Supreme Court .... a judge who did not see the dune, was not there, did not "release" his children to play in the sand, a judge that despite the height of his seat, he had no idea what the unique spine meant, in other words... Ignorant judge.

Despite (or because of) his ignorance, the judge ruled that "the Israel Lands Administrator will be allowed to market/sell the sand from Dionet-Samar to contractors and consumers of the requested product". Your Honor knew that in his decision he gave permission to exterminate the sand dune in Samar.

The honorable judge knew that: (in a country where there is no death sentence), his honor passed a death sentence on animal and plant populations, including dozens of species and hundreds of special and unique individuals. The honorable judge knew that he passed a death sentence on a rare habitat, and this is how ignorance destroys our environment!

  1. Dr. Rosenthal,
Indeed my eyes missed the offer. The lack of response from the authorities regarding the proposal is truly puzzling. Is it possible the authorities know something you don't? This is a point you didn't dwell on enough, and instead you shout without practice, so it gives the impression. Successfully.

  2. Dr. Rosenthal:
But it could also be that he is not a seasoned reader and another possibility is that in the sequence between appearing under a pseudonym and appearing under his full name he chose the compromise option of a first name only.
You shouldn't judge people harshly, what's more, he attached a web address to his name that differentiates you from him in another way.
The content of the things is also matter-of-fact and clearly not written with the aim of embarrassing you.
If I were you, I would simply clarify in my response that this is a different collection. I would refrain from attacking the new assembly whose right to the name is no less than mine.

  3. to Michael -
When for about 10 years lists of Dr. Assaf Rosenthal appear on the website,
When during that time my comments appear on the site under the name Asaf,
When a comment from "Asaf" appears on my list... as a reply to another comment
(or as an independent response) …. It is possible that this is not an impersonation, since perhaps his name is really "Assaf"
But there is no doubt that this may cause confusion and associate responses with those who did not respond,
Therefore, whoever wants to respond, has his eyes in his head and a little sense in his head
would have chosen a different name...
Unless there is a hidden intention in his responses and he does not want to identify..
In such a case, he is from
    And it should stop!

  4. - Respondent No. 2 ... impersonates,
    to Eyal A,
End of question When reading first in the list appears a practical proposal for the Eilat area,
As for other places, the need for quarrying should be considered everywhere
Because the most correct... to recycle (shred) building materials.

  5. Dr. Rosenthal,
There is a lot of sand in Israel. Question - are there any places where you consider it permissible to exploit? If not, what solution do you propose?

  6. Ami,
Civilian death penalty has been abolished, there is death penalty only in a military court, only for traitors and looters and only in times of war.

  7. Correction of a very easy mistake: Israel not only has the death penalty - it was also officially carried out in the Eichmann trial and many times in targeted killings. Other than that, nice article.
