Saturn now has 22 known moons
Astronomers announced yesterday (Thursday) that they found four new moons orbiting the planet Saturn. This discovery makes the planet the owner of more known moons than any other planet in the solar system. Saturn now has 22 known moons, while Uranus is orbited by 21 moons.
Not much information was given about the four new moons, except for their brightness and the fact that they orbit more than 15 million km above the surface of a star. According to the team of researchers from Cornwall University in New York, it seems that the diameter of the moons is very small - about 10-50 km, and that they look like weak points of light moving around the planet.
