Commentary: The Copenhagen Conference will not succeed in saving the planet

The silver sling shot in Copenhagen may be painted the right color but is at best made of butter frozen in the cold Danish winter

I saw the "encouraging" news from Copenhagen about the agreement being formed and I was overjoyed, in fact I didn't even feel relieved, since everyone who understands the matter knows that the warming will continue and the temperatures will rise by more than two degrees, today there are predictions that by the end of the century the concentrations of DTP More than 500 parts per million and therefore even if the industrialized countries commit to a maximum reduction of emissions, (the example of Israel hints at the general direction).
The UN scientists report every week on findings that raise the bar, the bar that the water level will reach in days as suggested by the warming.
All the "skeptics" will forgive me for not providing sources and citations for things, but anyone who has his eyes in his head, anyone who sometimes turns his eyes to scientific publications will find things on his own, in fact I do not need the skeptics' forgiveness, since their skepticism will not add or subtract from the existing situation and the scenarios the future ones.
When dealing with DTP plates, it is worth remembering that in addition to global warming, DTP causes air pollution that harms human health and the environment, highly acidic rains, and perhaps the most severe damage is the increase in the level of acidity in the oceans, an acidity that damages corals, oysters, and others, thus causing a chain reaction that damages the entire system of life in the water.
There is no doubt: most of the responsibility for greenhouse gas emissions, for warming, rests on the "developed" countries, the rich, fertile and fertile Western countries, wealth that has largely been accumulated at the expense of Africa and the like, and if in the previous paragraph I argued that Israel is an example, here is the place to exclude it, because despite The high technological positioning, despite the developments and inventions that place Israel at the forefront of the journey to use clean energy...

Here around us the situation is closer to "developing" countries than to the West. And it doesn't matter if the blame on "mentality", on leadership, on the security situation, or any other delusional excuse that is found or invented, the pollution of the water sources, the air pollution, the scattering of garbage of all shades everywhere and under every fresh tree, puts us in a good place in the end.

Despite attempts to the contrary, our place will be among those who will need help to overcome the negative effects of warming, so we will return to the rich western countries. To those whose historical obligation is to do everything possible in order to alleviate the suffering that will fall to the lot of many countries. So far there is no explicit commitment to reduce emissions to levels that would moderate the warming. At this stage, there is a vague promise of a fund worth about 100 billion dollars, an amount that is not clear where it will come from and how it will be used.
Cautious estimates indicate that for the development of clean energy technologies, for protection measures and preparations for the harms of warming, a much higher amount will be required.

The things are written at the end of the conference and before the summaries are known, it is possible that at the end of the procedure the summaries will look more positive, but again, the warming that is increasing is a fact, what must be done in order to present everyone knows (almost), what must be done to prepare for the results of the warming... is partly known. Another part is hidden and it must be assumed that it will become clearer and clearer in the coming years, what will he do...? I'm sorry to sound skeptical, but as things stand today, the action will be minimal, since the world leaders and the "deciders" have not yet internalized that the time has come that instead of controlling the environment for the sake of the human population, there will be control of the human population for the sake of the environment.

  1. in response to me Kagan from Rashtrak - There is enough space in our planet for even 10 billion inhabitants, the problem is that humans live in concentrations. There are countries with very low density and with a huge unpopulated area, see for example the USA, Russia, Canada, Australia and more. If they start investing resources in "dry" areas as well, then they will be able to settle them and there won't be destructive overcrowding like in China. In connection with the use of the planet's resources, it is already a matter of technological development - environmentally friendly technology. And yet, despite the so-called optimism, one thing I do agree with is that humans technically can but probably won't be able to implement since they are so selfish and won't agree to give up the existing convenience (until it's too late...)

  2. Well done no.' Rosenthal!! The human race is not "the crown of creation!" , but destroys the global environment - and in the end

May he disappear from the face of the wonderful planet called "Earth"!. The real problem (not "politically correct"...) is the order

The "divine" of "produce and multiply and fill the earth". Well - there is no room for 6.7 billion human beings on the mantle...

The wild multitude is coming, it will not be tamed (see the example of China!!) - the fate of the human race will be sealed to the end.

  3. The term PADH is misleading as its syntax implies a special type of carbon rather than a compound.
What carbon? Dioxide! (And more - as the name of a compound that has more oxygen than carbon?!)
Therefore - even though the term is common - it is better not to use it.

  4. The term FDF is more familiar than MDF...
It's a shame to make it difficult for the readers.
Or at least initially at the disposal of carbon dioxide, or carbon dioxide...
