The robotics major of the new Rabin high school from Kiryat Gat won first place this year in the national robotics competition "Roboner 2008", in which 22 high schools from around the country took part and presented 50 robots. The contest took place about two weeks ago, but for some reason it was only published yesterday. Moran Ben Tolila and Alon Lifshitz from the XNUMXth grade, under the guidance of teacher Dr. Israel Tartkovsky, were the team members that represented the high school in the competition.

The winning team built the winning robot known as GatCity, over the past three years, and is expected to fly following the win and represent Israel in the international robotics competition that will be held in about a week at Trinity College in the USA.

Intel Israel supports and accompanies the robotics trend that was established at the new Rabin High School in Kiryat Gat, both with financial resources and with volunteers who help the students. Upon winning the competition, the winning students and the supervising teacher were invited to a tour of the Intel factory in Kiryat Gat and a personal meeting with Maxine Fassberg, the CEO of Intel Israel, and Josh Walden, the director of Intel's global manufacturing plants.

Ronit Cohen, principal of the new Rabin high school, thanked Intel during the meeting for its continuous support for the advancement of the robotics trend and noted that it was thanks to it that the trend reached achievements and successes.
