The fourth day of operation STS-135, the last space shuttle operation, has ended and today (Tuesday) will be a day full of activities, which will also include a spacewalk, although those who will perform it will be two members of the station's permanent crew, and not as has been customary until now during shuttle operations- The guests from the ferry.
The multi-purpose Rafale logistics component attached to the Earth-facing side of the Armoni laboratory at the station was opened and the crew began unloading 4,318 kg of spare parts, equipment and supplies from it. They also began preparations for the only spacewalk as part of this mission to be performed by Mike Possum and Ron Garan, which will begin today (Tuesday) at 15:44 Israel time.
And in the meantime, NASA decided to extend the shuttle mission by one more day. This day will be used to transfer as much equipment as possible to the station and to transfer to the shuttle unnecessary equipment on the station and at the head of it - the cooling system that broke down a year ago, so that the fault can be analyzed and the following systems can be improved. The system is so heavy that it can only be charged inside a shuttle and not in any other vessel. In fact, the spacewalk was designed to insert the large and heavy component into the shuttle's cargo deck.

"There is a lot of work we can help the space station with - if we are given enough time" says Leroy Kane, chairman of the Atlantis management team. Atlantis will be able to last another day in space thanks to the fact that the astronauts will operate it efficiently and will be able to save on materials that enable the production of electricity in the shuttle, unlike Endeavor and Discovery, Atlantis is not equipped with a system that allows electricity to be transferred from the space station. The ferry landing at Cape Canaveral is now scheduled for July 21 at 12:56 Israel time.

    1. Thanks for the response, I did mean to move the cursor on the items on the left
Please see the Science Daily website
This method is very convenient in my opinion.

    2. Oh well if you say so. It still seems to me that if it provokes long debates it is not certain that it will bring
more surfers. Because those who are aroused by a good debate are not the majority of critics, even though we belong to the people
    who like to argue.

  2. Moshe, thanks for the comments
    1. All the changing news are also in the group to the left of the picture so there is no need for what you asked for.
    2. The state of science is so difficult, and there are too many scientific fields that challenge their correctness for reasons that are not relevant (for example, evolution, global warming, vaccines), and who, like a scientific website, should be used as a platform for this concern? Will the late News of the World do this for us?

You have made a nice and good change, I don't want to criticize but I want to make 2 comments (I apologize in advance)

    1. Replace the automatically changing title on the right with one that changes when you put the mouse on the corresponding item

    2. The article about anti-science is suitable for a tabloid, not a serious scientific website (I hope you are serious)
