A panda bear that has already made history once by being the first panda born in the USA and transferred to China, is making history once again.

For a long time, the panda Hu Mei had trouble conceiving. Finally an original was found, which saved her fertility: long hours of watching video tapes, which recorded mating between pairs of bears.

This strange affair was reported in a local newspaper in Beijing. This is the first attempt to encourage the birth of pandas, which the authorities in China are conducting using "panda porn".

In February, Ho Mei was transferred from her birthplace in San Diego in the USA to China. The therapists feared that she had not been able to learn how to mate, so she would not be able to do so with her new friends.

4-year-old Hu Mei was sent to a panda protection center in southwest China, where she spent several months and received sex education classes, which included long viewings of panda pornography.

The therapists hoped that the videos would provide Ho Mai with inspiration and a suitable mood for the blind meetings that are expected of her in the future, with the aim of aborting her. Indeed, the experiment was successful.

China has already invested large sums of money in order to save the giant panda, the unofficial symbol. While the panda population in China has increased, the animal still remains in danger due to massive deforestation of its home forests. Also, the groups of pandas live in too much isolation from each other, and thus the fertilization process becomes difficult.

Last week, the Chinese government said the number of pandas had increased by 40 percent to 1,590. The World Animal Fund WWF claims that this may be the result of more accurate survey methods and does not reflect a real increase.
