As we reported yesterday, The launch of the TECSAR satellite or as the Indians call it Polaris, of the Alta company - a subsidiary of the aerospace industry, is expected to take place in India in about two weeks.

In official announcements of the aviation industry and in official publications, published in recent years, it is written that the satellite is a high definition SAR type intelligence satellite. Alta is able to provide an imaging and intelligence system in all weather (IMINT) via satellite. as per Wikipedia Synthetic Aperture Radar (in English: Synthetic Aperture Radar or the acronym SAR) is an aerial radar that uses a synthetic antenna for the purpose of creating an image of the ground surface, that is, utilizing the knowledge of the aircraft's movement and integrating the data and images over time (integration) to obtain a larger effective antenna. In other words, the directionality of the antenna obtained after the integration of the images is similar to that of a larger antenna (without the integration).

The Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology, demonstrated on a low-orbit satellite, provides high-resolution radar photographs of any area of ​​interest. Strong ground stations will be installed to transmit new missions to the satellite via an uplink channel, and to download the high-quality images via a broadband downlink channel, and also enable additional uses of the images, as well as their decoding.

The TECSAR satellite is a new generation of synthetic radar satellites used for observation. TECSAR will provide high resolution imaging day and night and in all weather conditions. With a weight of less than 300 kg, it will be able to achieve high mechanical flexibility, and combine maneuverability and steering using an electronic antenna. Texar offers film-wide coverage of large areas in the form of an attachment. The unique ground coverage capability will provide customers with usability that could not exist until now and will overcome all the limitations of all other types of radar systems.

The new satellite will be used to collect a large number of high-resolution images across the globe, or alternatively, hundreds of medium-resolution images, using electron beam scanning, TECSAR will also be able to provide low-resolution coverage.

TECSAR's ground segment includes a decoding station that performs automatic processing of the images and activities such as target detection, position changes and target cluster detection. TECSAR is designed to perform continuous operations, and within a short time from the moment of the request until the receipt of the data and their interpretation.

TECSAR offers an efficient and cheap solution, with low launch costs and the ability to establish many ground stations, in the case of a multi-participant partnership.

About a year and a half ago, Alex Kacheko, deputy director of Mabat-Hellel, was a guest at a meeting that dealt with the expected launches in the Israeli space manual, which was held in collaboration with the Hadaan site and Hamada. He also referred to Levin Texar, among others "There are areas covered most of the time by clouds where it is not worth taking pictures. And of course you can't take pictures at night. This is circumvented using methods that allow you to see both at night and in all weather conditions. The satellite transmits pulses from its radar and creates a synthetic image of the area it photographs. To illustrate, he showed a picture on the slide that was taken from a plane using a radar of the Armory Museum in Beltran - it has a lot of information and of course the decoders know how to extract a lot of information from it. And of course - day, night and in any weather. It actually completes the electro-optical images.
