Doctoral student Moshe Goldstein from the Department of Physics at Bar-Ilan University won the Israel Physics Society award yesterday (Sunday) for his original contribution to the theories of one-dimensional and zero-dimensional electronic systems.

The award was given by Prof. Avishai Dekel, Chairman of the Israel Physics Society and the President of Bar-Ilan University, Prof. Moshe Koa. Prof. Moshe Kua defined Goldstein as his academic grandson) "Moshe Goldstein's supervisor is Prof. Richard Berkovich who was my student" said Prof. Kua.

The award was given as part of the 55th annual convention of the Israel Physics Society held at these hours (Sunday) at Bar-Ilan University.

Two key lectures at the conference are by David Spergel from Princeton University who lectured on the universe, the problem of dark matter, the age of the universe and its size. and Stefan Hell's lecture from the Max Planck Institute in Göttingen, Germany, who will present an innovative and revolutionary method he invented that allows the use of an optical microscope and a separation ability approaching that of an electron microscope. This method is considered revolutionary and it makes it possible to discover things that until now could not be seen.
