The purpose of the awards is to praise Israeli research and researchers for their contribution to the advancement of science and research in Israel. Award: NIS 50
The M.Landau Lottery Foundation will award eight awards to scientists and researchers who have contributed to the advancement of science and research in Israel at a ceremony to be held next month.
The prize of NIS 50 will be awarded to the following researchers:
* In the field of social sciences and sociology: the prize will be awarded to Prof. Avraham Yogev from the School of Education and the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Tel Aviv University.
* In the field of nanotechnology: the prize will be awarded to Prof. Rashef Tana from the Department of Materials and Surfaces from the Weizmann Institute of Science
* In the field of environmental sciences, 2 prizes will be awarded: in the study of ecology and environmental conservation, the prize will be awarded to Prof. Daniel Rosenfeld from the Institute of Earth Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
* In the study of the earth system and global changes: the prize will be awarded to Prof. Dan Yakir from the Department of Environmental Sciences from the Weizmann Institute of Science.
* In the field of medicine - medical research in the field of cancer: the prize will be awarded to Prof. Israel Valdavsky from the Ruth and Baruch Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Haifa Technion.
* In the field of humanities: the prize will be awarded to Prof. Nadav Naaman from the Department of History of the People of Israel at Tel Aviv University.
* In the field of life sciences: the prize will be awarded to Prof. Yossi Hirschberg from the Institute of Life Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
* In the field of robotics-exact sciences: the prize will be awarded to Prof. Amnon Shashua from the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
