Ovadia Harari, former deputy director general of the aerospace industry and leader of the "Lavi" project, joins the faculty of the Faculty of Aeronautics and Space Engineering at the Technion as a professor.

In his letter to the faculty members, the dean of the faculty, Professor Omri Rand, writes: "It is too short to detail the achievements and uniqueness of Ovadia Harari in the aerospace field. He accompanied all the innovations in the field during the last 40 years and led dozens of developments and projects in the aerospace industry since he graduated from the Technion in 1967. He won the Israel Award for Engineering and Technology in 1987 and two Israel Defense Awards. He led the 'Lion' project which was the largest technological project done so far in Israel, and it is not for nothing that he is referred to by many as 'the number 1 aeronautical engineer in Israel'. I am sure that as a professor in the Faculty of Aeronautics and Space Engineering at the Technion, his activities will excel in a very significant quality contribution to the enrichment of the students, the faculty and the study programs."

  1. 1. Mr. Harari was never a professor at the Technion, but a visiting professor (not a member of the Technion's academic staff).
    2. As of October 2010, he is no longer a visiting professor at the Technion.
