Orbital Sciences plans to launch the Cygnus spacecraft on September 18 for a five-day journey to the station, where it will be captured by the robotic arm and attached to the harmonic component. The launch is expected at 17:50 Israel time.

Orbital Sciences will be the second company to launch a commercial payload to the space station. The first company to do this was SpaceX which launched its own cargo ship in two successful missions.

Fyodor Yurchikhin began his role as the commander of the 37th team, which he currently shares with the American Karen Nyberg and the Italian Luca Parmitano. The other crew members - Pavel Vinogradov, Chris Cassidy and Alexander Mysorkin left the station in their spacecraft, Soyuz TMA-08M. and landed in Kazakhstan on September 11.

In Russia, the three other members who are supposed to take off from Kazakhstan on September 25 are now awaiting deportation: Oleg Kutov, Mike Hopkins and Sergey Ryazansky. They will fly in the TMA-10M spacecraft (the Soyuz 9M spacecraft is docked at the station and will be used by the three currently in it).

The new team members will also arrive at the station after only four laps - less than six hours. Up to the 36th crew, it took astronauts two days to reach the space station.

However, even before the team increases again to 6 astronauts, fresh supplies await the astronauts that will demonstrate the ability to meet the station.
