At the RED Hat Summit held in San Francisco, the premiere of the documentary "The Open Patient" was held, which tells how Steven and Liz took an open source approach to their brain cancer treatment, by providing access and sharing their medical data. Their innovative approach helped turn their crises into a movement that could change the face of healthcare and also open up the patient/doctor relationship.

As part of the film series Open Source Stories, the film "The Open Patient" is the latest in a series of films by the software company Red Hat, which come to emphasize and share stories with the person at the center, about how openness is a catalyst for change.
