The first cycle of N.E.M (Outstanding Arab Youth) ended at the Technion. The project was conceived, initiated, founded and financed by the industrialist Eitan Wertheimer, and is headed by Brigadier General (Res.) Avner Barzani. Its goals are to increase the excellence of the youth in the Arab sector, to create optimal conditions for maximizing the personal potential of each of the students in a unique preparatory school to increase their chances of being accepted into the higher education system, to integrate them into an academic course of study with personal guidance, to provide assistance and support until the completion of their degree studies and their integration into the Israeli industry upon completion of their studies .
Shirley Yogev, the director of the project, says that an initial core of 55 Arab young men and women studied this year in the preparatory school at the pre-academic center at the Technion, in the subjects of mathematics, physics, English, scientific writing and preparation for the exampsychometric. "As a result of the assistance and tools the students received in the preparatory school, there is an average improvement of 100 points compared to the initial psychometric test," she adds. "Most of the students were accepted to the Technion, many of them to the prestigious faculties - medicine, electrical engineering and computer science."
All participants received housing in the student dormitories and a monthly living stipend. The project also paid their tuition fees. The students accepted to the Technion will continue to receive support, valued at more than one hundred and fifty thousand shekels per participant, until they receive their degree.
Ahead of the coming academic year, 1000 candidates were registered, of which 100 were selected for the second cycle of N.E.M.
At the ceremony, Eitan Wertheimer presented his "three-hectare model" for the Arab sector: "I would be happy if you were entrepreneurs and industrialists at the end of your studies," he said. "You will build your house on one dunam in your villages. You will do agriculture on the second dunam, so as not to move away from your roots. And on the third acre you will build your industrial plant. I wish for a moment that you will become the next Bill Gates."

  1. To all the idiots who are against helping the Arabs
Fact: if we neglect them one day they will rise from poverty and out of jealousy of the wealth of the Jews will take up arms.
Understand, we live here with them, and we have to learn to live with each other! Or we will suffer forever!
If we help them today, and tomorrow they will be doctors and engineers, then the country will earn a million times more than the financial expenses now. Well done Eitan Wertheimer!
Take examples from Belgium and Switzerland, where peoples live with completely different quality of life.
And don't screw my brain that they are Arabs and you can't live with them, because in many areas we fall short of them.
Peace = quality of life. Quality of life = go live in Switzerland for a month and you will understand.

  2. All those who speak speak lies and do not even accept that there will be hope for the existence of peace

  3. Like in checkmate

Throughout history, there were those who knew how to translate weaknesses into a significant advantage; Instead of looking at problems, we need a creative idea, for example to raise the level of Israeli students in international competitions in mathematics (do they say we are creative?).

  4. This is exactly how the father of the Pakistani atomic bomb started who acquired his nuclear education from the stupid British. And so began Ahmadinejad's nuclear scientists, who also studied in England and Germany.
Ahmed Tibi is also a gynecologist, so are the leaders of Hamas, such as "pediatricians" and "engineers", as well as Bashar Assad, an "ophthalmologist" who until now has put out the eyes of many Lebanese.
Nice, teach them and in the end it will blow up in all of our faces. The point is that Hortheims of sorts don't travel on buses, and soon won't be here either.
Understand idiots. There is no such thing as a "good Arab" or an "educated Arab" everyone has or will have blood on their hands.

  5. And where will these 3 dunams come from? From Jewish lands that were stolen.

Wertheimer's arrogance is irritating and infuriating. The man became anti-Zionist. After he made an exit and sold the business his father founded on the island for billions to one American, and instead of messing with his cars he is busy fixing the world, Aalek. like madonna

Why doesn't he do such a project for the Jewish residents? This is the real Zionism. And not a dunam here and a dunam there for the Arabs.

At least he should return the generous grants he received from the state to his business, and not preach about Zionism anymore because he lost the right to do so as soon as he sold his factory to an American.
