Dear readers, I am opening a new series for you, different in nature and content from the previous one (the priesthood as you did not know) and discussing a somewhat "bizarre" topic - chapters in the history of physical activity among the people of Israel for generations, and first of all - open a comprehensive thing.

The history of sports, a research study and an arena of scientific and critical study, is, as puzzling and surprising as it is, young for the days. However, it is nothing more than an introduction to what is happening in the field of historical research as follows: until the end of the 19th century, history did not exist as an independent scientific discipline, in its own right, but focused on a number of prominent fields of activity such as wars, migrations of peoples, various struggles between countries, high politics, etc. . And to such an extent that one can read whole volumes of books on the history of England without coming across a single word about football. From then on, social history rose and flourished in the field of historiosophy and historiography, namely the one that embraces different social groups and examines their ways of behavior based on their place and time.

Moreover, many shadows were removed from the corners of history when various sciences included under the umbrella of social sciences such as sociology, political science, anthropology and more were harnessed for the benefit of its research and study in the period in question and made it possible to examine, from different and diverse angles, the behavior of society and the person who stood at its center.

These transformations opened a new porthole for examining the variety of sources available to historical research, and from this those sources that were rejected until then due to their "insignificance", were now mobilized for the benefit and benefit of historiosophy in order to illuminate dark corners of the world of human society.

The aforementioned transformations unfolded a broad historiosophical sheet between which layered studies were born and developed, in cross-sections of length and breadth, which distinguished and designated their field of occupation in socio-cultural sub-themes such as the study of the history of art, music, drama, culinary... and even physical culture and sports.

The study of the history of physical culture and sports therefore became an integral part of the study of history, subject to the rules, and for that reason it should be treated like any other historical subject and should be analyzed according to the same chisels that are used for historical analysis.

As the mountains of history, the study of the history of physical culture seeks to examine and test human society for its activities and contents. As the mountains of history, the study of the discussed topic seeks to sort out the variety of facts while carefully examining selectively with the aim of giving them framework lines that have a certain logic. As the mountains of history, the study of the discussed subject seeks to place at its center questions of "how" and "why" under "who", "what" and "when". That is to try to wonder about the root of phenomena and find a logical explanation for them. And according to history, any such study should be characterized by the skepticism syndrome that imposes a thick line of emphases in the field of interpretive skepticism, namely - is the conclusion arising from a certain interest sufficiently based and confirmed on a variety of facts independent of each other.

So what are we left with? To examine the issue discussed in the battle with the people of Israel in the ancient era in several chapters that will be published later.
